Cosy, comfortable and surrounded by gorgeous rolling hills. I loved the slow mornings, farm fresh produce, outdoor fire and soaking in the bath while watching the sunset! Each room is beautifully styl...ed and I loved watching the sunlight pour through the large windows over looking the views. The welcome hamper was such a beautiful touch and the whole stay was an experience to remember.I left feeling grounded, recharged and very grateful for a few slow days in the fresh country.

Berry Creek Farm Stay was awesome! We really enjoyed our stay. The views were absolutely beautiful. We loved waking up to the morning view from the window with birds visiting the feeder, and the after...noon sunsets were stunning. My daughter especially enjoyed feeding the animals. If you visit in winter, don't forget to bring your boots!

This was exactly the getaway I had been looking for. The breathtaking views alone are priceless, and the house itself is beautiful—cosy, spacious, and fully equipped with everything you need.

One of ...the highlights was the farm experience. Guests are welcome to pick seasonal fruits and collect freshly laid eggs, which made the stay feel truly special. Most importantly, the host’s family were incredibly warm and welcoming. Their children were wonderful companions for my son, who had an amazing time exploring the farm while I relaxed. And should mention their two lovely dogs.

The property really offers everything in one place: a comfortable home, BBQ facilities, a campfire, an outdoor tub, and plenty of books, games, and DVDs for entertainment. The homemade jam from Burgan included in the welcome basket is a must-try.

We loved our stay so much that we extended it—and we will definitely be returning.

We are a couple of nature & adventure loving people who just so happen to have a farm that has a cute little cottage on it! We have a 10 year son & a 2 year old son. We also have 2 Dogs, a cat, Horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, chooks and guinea fowl. We think we live in one of the most beautiful parts of the country and we are excited for you to experience it!

Cooking With Farm Produce

The hosts offered some of their farm produce of pork and all sorts! So I created a home roast meal for dinner that night along side an arvo wine and platter.

This little cafe serves great food and specialty coffee, exactly what we needed to kick off our first day. Besides all the different brews they also sell dedicated coffee equipment.

Lunch At Cafe Escargot

This local gem was the best restaurant we discovered in the surrounding areas. Vincenza and Doug run this restaurant, providing their guests with a lovely space for functions, independent accommodations and excellent paddock to plate food.

A lot of the vegetables and cheeses come directly from their harvest, and almost everything is made in house, from pickles to deli meats and everything in between. They’re well known for the selection of snails they serve (and they were outstanding)!

Forest Walk

I packed a picnic lunch to have in Lyrebird forest and took all the walking tracks. The River walk was totally the best one and had the best picnic spot! Didn't spot any Lyrebird's but I could hear them.

Great Southern Rail Trial

Starting at the Horticultural Park in Young Street, Leongatha, this mostly flat and gentle 68-kilometre rail trail takes you past farmland, lowland forest and wetlands towards Koonwarra.

Fishing

The Tarwin River is among the more exalted of Victoria’s estuary systems with a solid reputation for producing estuary perch. It flows into Anderson Inlet. This is the only Victorian water where estuary perch are the dominant and most sought-after species. You would think it was a sure bet for black bream, but very few are caught compared to other estuaries where bream are the dominant species.
