What an amazing experience! This place is so beautiful and picturesque. The attention to detail, cleanliness and hospitality was a breath of fresh air. Justin and Mel were very accommodating, friendly... and provided a lot of information about the area. Great recommendations for places to eat and activities to enjoy. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and highly recommend staying here! We also enjoyed seeing so many bunnies and birds around the property, so cute! Thank you for the wonderful olive oil! 10/10

Stayed at House on the Hill for our 15th wedding anniversary and to say we were impressed was an understatement. The location, the views, the privacy…it was all we could ask for and more. Even lucky e...nough to snag a full moon over the water on the second night we stayed which just added to the memories. We had a wonderful soaking up the local area as well.
Lastly, Justin was amazing! Attentive, friendly, contactable and relaxed!
All in all, couldn’t have had a better stay!

We loved our getaway at The House on the Hill! Surrounded by olive groves and with a beautiful outlook to Western Port Bay, it was the perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring. Justin and Mel we...re generous and thoughtful hosts, who made us feel very welcome during our stay. Highly recommend taking the George Bass coastal walk nearby to enjoy the sweeping views of the rugged coastline.

Mel and I are people that love challenges in life and embrace all opportunities, like buying this estate in 2014. Moving from the city and not knowing anything about farming and maintaining a country estate we had to learn quickly. Just after settling on the property we discovered the harvest season was just around the corner, so we quickly learnt from neighbouring farmers and key olive people in order to be ready to give the olive harvest a go. With a heap of enthusiasm and the desire to do well, we engage our friends and began to harvest with Gianni, our olive expert at the helm.
To compliment our first harvest, we purchased our own Olive Press to ensure pressing olives into extra virgin olive oil could be done within the hour. The results was a cold pressed, robust, peppery extra virgin olive oil that won a bronze medal in its first year at the Australian Olive Association national awards. We followed this up in 2016.
From this we felt the grove could still offer more, so in August 2016 a builder and myself began to restore and convert the villa. What was I thinking coming from a corporate background and not knowing a claw hammer from a sledge hammer! (do now!)
With a passion for perfection we painstakingly redesigned and rebuilt the villa whilst Mel my wife let her shopping senses go wild, always focusing on quality.
As a result we are proud to offer this exclusive villa for that special getaway for couples.
We aim to provide guests a high end luxurious stay whilst engaging with natures beauty and its surrounds. The stay may involve a curious stroll around the grove or discussing the processes of running it with me, the farmer or even both.
The guest has much on offer with a stroll into town or walking the George Bass Coastal walk with the added benefit of the walking track passing directly out the front of our property. Our guests may want to indulge in the local food and wine trail or maybe a days surfing, followed by the penguins then dinner. There is much on offer and Mel and I will do as much or as little as our guests request.
Cheers
Justin

On The Grove
This unique luxury experience is situated privately on a fully functioning Olive Grove.
Each season brings its own excitement in the journey of the olive tree. As guests of the Grove you are encouraged to join in as much or as little as you like. If you prefer to sit back and relax – then ignore the workings behind the scenes and indulge your senses in your secluded villa.
May – July is generally our picking season. The grove is busy with hand picking and pressing of the fruit. Join in and learn how this process is managed with the opportunity to taste fresh pressed EVOO – a taste sensation never to forget.
August – November the grove is in full swing with pruning and tree maintenance. The leaves are carefully selected and hand picked ready to make Olive leaf tea and Olive leaf extract.
All Year Round we are busy making hand made soaps, lip balms, dukkah, and general maintenance of the Grove – never a dull moment!

Shelly Beach
Along the George Bass Coastal Walk is Shelly Beach, our favourite swimming destination. The rocky bay provides shelter from the surrounding surf beaches and is perfect for snorkeling or just a relaxing dip. It’s also never too busy.
George Bass Coastal Walk
A short drive away, this coastal walk starts on the cliffs of Punchbowl and leads the seaside township of Kilcunda and it’s amazing pub and café. The walk offers beautiful views year round and the chance of whale watching if you’re lucky.
George Bass Coastal Walk
The George Bass Coastal Walk is a cliff top walk that is approximately seven kilometres long. The walk offers stunning views of the coastline and follows the route of the explorer George Bass' epic voyage of discovery along the southern edge of the Anderson Peninsula, over 200 years ago.
Surfing
The island is famous for it's surf breaks and boasts sheltered bays for beginners, reef and beach breaks and is considered one of the best surf beaches in the country. If you're learning to surf you can hire equipment from the island's collection of surf shops. Woolamai Surf Beach is a popular spot for more experienced surfers. It offers some of the best beach breaks in Victoria, often with long lefts and rights peeling over the wide banks and into the deep rips. The Carpark break is located to the east of the surf club, while Anzac Alley is to the west of the club and offers good right handers. All Woolamai breaks are best with a low to moderate swell and northerly winds.
Whale Watching
Be sure to visit Phillip Island between May and September for the opportunity to see humpback whales, southern right whales and orcas as they migrate from Antarctica to the warmer waters off Queensland for calving. The best whale watching spots are Cape Woolamai, Surf Beach, The Nobbies and Summerlands. Don't forget your binoculars.
