The Flinders Nuthouse is a perfect little retro beach shack full of character, colour and collectables. An easy walk to Flinders town centre with all its fabulous shops and cafes. And an equally short walk to the Pier beach. It's a short drive to the ocean beach and the Peninsula's best wineries. The Nuthouse is great for couples and small families with kids....

Additional Information

There are two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with a kids bunk plus a trundle (so 3 single berths).

Please note, with the trundle in use there's not much floor space in the kids room, so it's not really suitable for older teens or adults. The house is not suitable for 4 or more adults.

There is one internal bathroom with a shower and small bath. Plus an outdoor shower (with hot water) for a warming freshy upon your return from the beach.

We also have a vintage 1958 Sunliner caravan "Sonny" that can sleep a couple more (or for a kids camp out) in summer. Please note that the use of the caravan is subject to request and consideration of neighbours is paramount.

The lounge, entrance, dining and kitchen are all one cosy open plan space with an open fireplace. There's also a new gas heater (too warm up quickly in winter) and an air con and fans for summer.

Enjoy the suset on the front deck in a butterfly chair or cozy up around our outdoor brazier.
Use of our vintage caravan as extra bedding is subject to request.

Sorry no pets allowed.

Fishing At Flinders Pier

The Flinders Pier is a large pier made from wood. At the end of the pier the water is about 6m deep with sand and seaweed patches surrounding the area. It is the weed that provides shelter for calamari, while whiting feed in the sand patches. Soft plastic anglers can also fish from this pier as the water is usually crystal clear and the tide doesn’t run too hard in this area....

Cape Schanck Lighthouse

Cape Schanck Lighthouse Reserve offers short walks, lookouts and picnic facilities in a unique 19th century light station setting. This can also be the starting point to walk to Bushrangers Bay, a stunning secluded beach surrounded by bush....

Swimming Snorkelling

Westernport Bay is a stunning location for swimming and snorkelling. Explore the crystal clear waters around the piers and take in the magical underwater sea creatures. During low tide it is also possible to snorkel the rock pools at the back beaches....

Exploring The Local Area

Flinders is uniquely positioned at the western tip of Western Port Bay, so it's the heel of the Mornington Peninsula's boot. So you can experience both the wind-protected and mellow bay beaches and the wild ocean shores in the same walk.

Flinders ocean beach features the protected Mushroom Reef, which offers an underwater paradise to ocean lovers and a myriad of breaks for surfers. Inside the bay, the jetty is ideal for scuba divers and snorkellers to discover weedy seadragons, colourful sponges, giant rays and octopus. The pier is also popular with anglers and jetty jumpers.

The bay is also a great place for kayaking and stand up paddling, with some gentle, long waves rolling on the points.

There's a load of great walking options, around the village, beaches or just down the road at the beautiful bushrangers Bay. For those more adventurous, the Two Bays Trail lets you explore the peninsula's green wedge which is rich in biodiversity.

Hi, we are Annie, Jamie & Dot. We are mad about all things retro, mid-century, quirky and fun. We spend every spare minute op shopping, garage sale-ing and treasure hunting to add more and more 'dust collectors' to our two lovely pads. A bit about us... Annie loves to sew and craft; Jamie loves to surf and paddle board. Dot loves to read and get creative. Between us we have three green thumbs; we like eating out and we love to travel. Our idea of a great holiday is feeling at home, even when we're hundreds of miles away. We've never been lovers of clinical rooms with all white sheets & towels and the bare minimum of crockery and decor. We love the busy, the colourful, the eclectic and the things that make you smile. We really hope our seaside pad 'The Nuthouse’ makes you smile as much as it does us :)

My girlfriend booked the nuthouse for a three day getaway and we were blown away by it! The house itself is this time warp back to the 70s and we had such a blast relaxing by the fire and exploring flinders. Hands down a 10/10....

What a beautiful relaxing and stylish house in such a peaceful place. We sat by the fire reading and enjoying records and watched the stars and the rain from inside, was bliss!
An older style house very well styled and with everything you need for a weekender.
