A rescue boat in WW2, then a courtesy boat for the late Queen Elizabeth II, now a unique B&B in private grounds in the heart of the wine and fine-dining district of the Mornington Peninsula.

Red Hill Boat features a number of character-filled small rooms with restored original fittings and modern amenities. She offers surprises in every area, including a sunken shower, simulated controls in the wheelhouse, 1940’s radio, papers and magazines; while offering the latest in smart TV, quality hi-fi, free wi-fi, and sumptuous luxury in heated/air-conditioned comfort.

A delicious local-produce based breakfast hamper is provided, with other assorted goodies to sip and nibble on.

Red Hill Boat rests in her own private area, well removed from the main house and farm. There’s an outdoor bath, barbecue area and outdoor furnace.

Parking is free and easy, via a private driveway off the main entrance. Access is by coded security gates and self-access via key safe.

Walking distance or by short drive, nearby amenities include restaurants, wineries and brewery, with Red Hill central to both bay and ocean beaches.

Please note: Red Hill Boat is, well … a boat. Although surprisingly spacious, it has small doorways, low ceilings, steps up and down and narrow walkways, making it unsuitable for the very old, the very young, the very large or the very infirm.
There is a kitchenette inside the boat with microwave, pod coffee machine, toaster, bar fridge and kettle. Cooking is outside on Webber bbq with pizza stone and separate gas ring.
Accommodation is for two people only.
RED HILL BOAT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN OF ANY AGE, AT ANY TIME.
Pets are strictly prohibited.
There is no smoking or vaping in or on any part of the boat or pier.

* Please note - As a matter of safety the fire furnace is not available for use during the Mornington Peninsula summer fire restrictions season.

There is no other B&B in the world like the Red Hill Boat.

Such a cute, fun, well designed space. Perfect spot to simply relax, the gardens are equally well equipped for cooking and relaxing. But it's also very conveniently placed to go explore Mornington Peninsula.

An adventure and getaway on its own. You won't need to leave- explore all the rooms and it's crooks and cranies. Flick all the switches and press all the buttons. Find a rabbit with the spotloght at n...ight. Take an outdoor bath, light the outdoor fireplace. Have your breakfast in the galley or outside in the sunshine with a book. A fabulous stay.

We had an incredible time aboard this beautifully restored boat. It had everything you could want and need for an unforgettable weekend away. Very clean, clear instructions, and even fresh bread was left for us :)

Hosts Tim and Jen We have lived on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula in Red Hill for more than 30 years. We love where we live: superb beaches close by and amazing bush walks, and surrounded by vineyards and fine dining. Tim is a cinematographer with a passion for lighting and images and Jen a gardener with a passion for anything old with history. Restoring this boat and it's history has been a massive challenge and we are now so proud to share it with all.

Lunch At Tucks

Wintry weekends call for comfort food and great wine, and we certainly found it here. We loved being able to tuck into a delicious meal overlooking the vineyards yet still be toasty and warm inside their heated terrace. Afterwards you can indulge yourself in a tasting or laze the day away on their adult sized timber tree swing.

Montalto Winery

Upon the recommendation of our host Jo we visited the Montalto Winery in Red Hill. Just 20 minutes away, Montalto is nicely perched on the hill overlooking the grapevine and marvellous gardens. We sat outside for a couple of wines and lunch whilst the little fella could explore the space and gardens.
