We are Cicada Luxury Camping, adults only glamping accommodation nestled in the Jerrara countryside just 90 minutes from Sydney, with Kiama’s stunning beaches and town centre moments away.

Nestled next to the remnant subtropical rainforest, with breathtaking views over Jamberoo valley, our Golden Emperor tent is one of our two premium tents. Built on a raised timber platform, it features an undercover deck with outdoor bath to soak your cares away while soaking up the spectacular views.

NOTE: this tent has about 40m of relatively steep access.

As the region's first ‘Eco Tourism’ unique accommodation provider, we offer two luxurious styles of adults-only glamping accommodation: 2 safari-style tents (king bed, ensuite, kitchenette, outdoor bath), and 2 large bell tents (queen bed, shared bathroom & kitchen).

All our tents enjoy their own private fire pit, and deck with breathtaking views across the beautiful green rolling hills of Jerrara and Jamberoo.

It’ll take you mere moments to exhale, let go, unwind and immerse yourself in an indulgent and natural escape, all while knowing you’ve chosen a low-carbon-footprint getaway.

Cicada is designed as an escape to the country to enjoy some peace, rest and relaxation. As such, we don’t recommend Cicada for large group bookings. There is a maximum of 2 adults allowed in or around each tent at any time, and we don't allow parties or gatherings of any kind.

We ask all guests to respect the quiet enjoyment of other guests and neighbours, and avoid making any loud or offensive noises.

We had a wonderful stay, Nick was an awesome host, very private with an amazing view but also close enough to shops and things to do if you wanted to get out. Would highly recommend.

Golden Emperor - Cicada Luxury Camping is tucked away in a secluded corner of nature, providing a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The campsite is set amidst rolling hills, off...ering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and a serene atmosphere that immediately soothes the soul. It's the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with nature.

The accommodation at Golden Emperor is nothing short of spectacular. Each tent is a private oasis, beautifully designed with attention to detail. The interior exudes elegance, featuring comfortable beds, tasteful decor, and all the modern amenities you could desire while still preserving the rustic charm of camping. A highlight was bathing in the outdoor bath while watching the stars.

We can wholeheartedly recommend Cicada Luxury Camping to anyone seeking a memorable escape from the ordinary.

From the moment I headed through Main Street Kiama and into the valley where Cicada luxury Camping was. I knew this was going to be a good spot. Exactly as I saw in the pictures but better this tent h...ad all you needed.
From a shower indoors and out. A cosy bed with luxurious bed linen. Bathroom, an induction cook top, plenty of glassware to choose from, no matter what drink tickled your fancy. The Golden Emperor has it all.
In the evening I drew a bath on the decking and lay in it looking up at the stars and at the flames flickering from the fire pit. It was like a romance novel.
Nick the host was very friendly and accomodating. The landscape and view was beautiful.
A lot of great walks to go on. Carrington falls was absolutely stunning to see. Around 45mins drive from Cicada and well worth it.
Minnnamurra falls walk was also stunning. What a lush rainforest.

Kiama Coast Walk

This spectacular 22km walk starts at Minnamurra and leads you past headlands, rivers, beaches, the town (for a coffee break) and then up to Blowhole Point before passing bays and finishing at Werri Beach. Take advantage of picnic areas and cafes along the way. Keep and eye out for whales, sea eagles and hawks.

Swimming At Kiama Beach

Surfing

Main Beach (or Surf Beach) is popular for both swimming and surfing. The surf break is called ‘The Wedge’. The beach is patrolled in summer and there are toilets, BBQs, picnic tables and changing sheds.

Kiama Coast Walk

This is a beautiful coastal walk where farmland meets the Tasman Sea. The route is 20km and point-to-point, so you can turn around and return to the start whenever you like. A bonus is that it's dog-friendly!
