This beautiful property is not a home, it's a haven! The parklike setting on 60 acres is serene and peaceful, enveloped in nature with a symphony of sounds from the resident wildlife including numerous varieties of birds, the chorus of banjo frogs in the dams, hooting of owls at night and the thump of kangaroos and wallabies going about their business, and maybe spot a koala. The long & winding driveway reveals an oasis set among the trees, with European trees marking the seasons against areas of preserved native vegetation.

We LOVED our 3 night stay at Hiraeth! From the outset, Ben’s communications and great tips on walks in the area had us in the house, settled in and out and up Mt Wombat in no time. Hiraeth is just as ...described, a calm, well provisioned, warm and cosy (yet also spacious) place set in a tranquil landscape, offering complete silence. We loved the inquisitive heifers in the neighbouring paddock, and were lucky enough to spot deer wandering through the property early one morning and even a koala in a gum outside the bedrooms. The Strathbogie General Store 5 minutes away, and Seven Creeks Hotel, Northern Rasoi Indian restaurant and Mely & Cafe in Euroa provided excellent food. We loved the very comfortable beds, excellent shower, and a big range of board games that kept us entertained in front of the wood burner one very wet day. Thanks so much Ben and Emma. We’ll be recommending Hiraeth to friends and family!

I was entranced by the bare chesnut trees along the winding driveway and then captivated by the wisteria and snowball trees entangling the front door. We were comfortable and warm and made the most of... both the indoor and outdoor fires. So relaxing among the magnificent trees, endless birds and cows over the fence an ideal getaway. We explored the local area, local scenic drives and bike riding around Euroa. Thanks Emma and Ben

We stayed at Hiraeth for 6 days in July. We were met mostly with rainy weather, but the farm was well equipped with a log fire heater to endure through the cold.
Ben and Emma were very helpful and det...ailed with recommendations and support.
The family had a very peaceful week playing board games and cooking up a storm in the well equipped kitchen .
Will definitely return in the summer to try out swimming in the ponds.

Mt Wombat Lookout
Mt Wombat lookout offers excellent 360 degree views of the area from the plateau on top of Mt Wombat (799 metres). The Waranga Basin and Goulburn Weir at Nagambie are both visible from the lookout.
Swimming At Polly Mcquinn Weir
Picturesque Polly McQuinns is located on the Seven Creeks. It is four kilometres south-east of Strathbogie and comprises a reservoir, weir, bridge and a pleasant area around the water. Once a natural creek and large deep-water pool, the creek has been dammed on the northern side of the road, creating another large waterbody. The dam is a three sided concrete weir (1920-30). The water spills over the concrete weir wall, under the road bridge, over large exposed granite boulders and across a natural spillway into a deep-water pool. It is a popular picnic and swimming spot.

Gooram Falls
The Gooram Falls is a beautiful place to visit for a swim and picnic during summer or to rug up in winter and enjoy the views of the rock pools and the water cascading over the rocks. The Gooram Falls are west of the Strathbogie Tableland on the Euroa-Mansfield Road. Two-wheel drive access to the carpark is fine all year round.

Gourlburn River
We took a cruisy stroll down to the Goulburn River that meanders around the property. It was a bit nippy for a swim this time of year, but still an enjoyable view from the bank. Perfect setup for some kayak adventures and a swim in the summer. We'll be back for sure!
Balmattum Hill Walking Track
Walk to the top of the Balmattum Hill track for a rewarding view of the surrounding mountain ranges.
Happy Hour At Northern Republic
Located in a converted flour mill, Northern Republic is an excellent choice for happy hour in the courtyard.
