Newly built off-grid cabin nestled by the Ovens River on our 100 year old Walnut Farm 'Valley Nut Groves'.

Has 1 Queen bed,
2 burner Gas stove top,
Microwave & Toaster,
Hot shower with Soaps.
Outdoor bath with Hot water.
Split System for heating and Cooling.
Curtains and blinds.
Mini Fridge.
Deck with outdoor BBQ.
Toilet.

Being a place for you to switch off, there is NO wifi or tv. Mobile reception is perfectly fine though, if you do need to stay connected.

Full Fly screen on bi-fold doors for fresh air.
Please close doors if Split system is on, or just have doors open for fresh air to save power!

All linen, towels and soaps included.
Plus tea, sugar, cooking oil, salt & pepper.
Coffee Pods and Pod machine.
Plus a French press Plunger.

Bathe outside in the outdoor bath, or use the purpose built steps that will take you down to the river's edge. Wander around the farm and over to another swimming spot (approx 1km away) where you’ll find kayaks and a canoe for you to use.

We had a wonderful stay at Cortes Cabin. The cabin was cosy, comfortable and had everything we needed. It was the perfect spot to switch off and properly unwind.

A huge shout out to Ronaldo, who is a... great host and an absolute life saver(literally). He was quick to respond, went above and beyond to help us out, and made the whole stay easy and stress free.

Highly recommend Cortes Cabin to anyone after a relaxing getaway. We'd love to come back!

Fantastic could not imagine a more serine location and the Cabin was a joy state of the art with the bed looking at the river below . Who ever thought this out had an eye for flair,what a magical stay.

Gapsted Estate

The best spot for a cheese board and bottle of wine was at Gapsted Estate just up the road from our accommodation. There’s nothing like watching the sun go down over the grapevines and you can even take the rest of the bottle home!

Berry Picking

We went blackberry picking when we stumbled on piles and piles of them just near the lodge. There were also mountains of them at the back of the property, but they weren't quite ripe yet.

Surrounding Waterfalls

We checked out both Newton falls and Woolshed which were pumping thanks to all the rain we have had lately. Woolshed was our pick of the two if you can only check one.

The Ox And Hound

Delicious food using local ingredients in hearty dishes. The service was top notch and the food was drool-worthy.

Tiny Coffee

For your coffee fix visit Liv and Jake at Tiny Coffee in Beechworth. Their vibrant and welcoming dispositions make anyone feel right at home. If you're lucky, they might have their loving pup with them to also get your daily dose of doggo.

Milawa Local Produces

Some exquisite tasty Australian farmhouse cheeses from Milawa Cheese Company, with a great-balanced reserve cabernet sauvignon from Wood Park Wines and delicious sourdough bread from Milawa Bakery Cafe. All that close to each other. Can it be better? We don't think so!
