Welcome to our latest accomodation offering, The Homestead. Located in Bega on the Sapphire Coast, our home has something for everyone. The Homestead boasts three spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms, a modern kitchen and open living and dining area. Styled with French antiques and collected wares, our home has been tastefully restored and offers up a generous base for you to explore the coast from. Located 15 minutes away from Tathra beach and 20 minutes from Merimbula, our home showcases the best of the Sapphire Coast.

You enter The Homestead through an old door. From the outside, it looks like a newly restored cottage, but from the inside she is so much more.
Once inside, take comfort in soft woollen blankets, cosy beds with high quality linens, a slow combustion fireplace, aplenty of books, as well as modern day luxuries, such as a smart TV and unlimited high-speed internet (hello remote work). Timeless heritage with a modern touch is The Homestead, and we know you will love it just as much as we do.

We know that the kitchen truly is the heart of every home, and we have designed this one to offer nothing short of this. Traditional kitchen cabinetry meets modern, with a newly poured and overused concrete bench, traditional butler's sink and tapware. Our cookware is as functional as it is beautiful, drawing in any cooking enthusiast. With two SMEG ovens, induction cooking, a large fridge and a dishwasher, you can really can cook here until your hearts content.

Our open plan living design offers both beauty and function, with the hardwood timber sliders opening out onto our deck and an oversized Blackbutt window offering a view to the mountains. Sit on the lounge and look out to the East, as the sun rises and a new day dawns. As the sun sets, watch a glow set in over the mountains and escape the world for a while. In winter, it really is the perfect backdrop for getting cosy by the slow combustion fire with a hot cacao.

The house has three bedrooms with beautiful layered arrangements of high-end linens, so no need to bring your own. One room offers a double bed, with the other two being queen beds. Our house comfortably sleeps six.

We have two bathrooms. Our spacious main bathroom has a rainfall shower and an 'English styled' Dado quartz bath which sits high on a plinth. The bath is paired with old world style taps and is perfect for deep soaking. Above the bath we have a pair of antique Italian Murano wall sconces which add to the mood when bathing at night. In the ensuite you'll find a rainfall shower, separate toilet and vanity (goodbye to sharing with the kids).

Our deck and backyard though is truly where the magic happens. Paying homage to the Bega township and its traditional farming core, we have designed and restored our home in the desire of recreating this experience for you. Our landscaping work has seen a European inspired garden design, with a generous vegetable garden (feel free to harvest while you’re here) and secluded nooks for quiet moments. We have Silky chooks roaming around pecking in amongst the roses. They are very friendly and automatic doors let them roam and pack them back, so no need for you to do a thing! (note: if you would prefer the chooks to not be let out during your stay, please let us know in advance of your stay).

From the tea leaves to the kettle to the teaspoon, heart and mind have been given to all of the small details at the Homestead.

Explore wide but rest well.

The Homestead Bega is actually even more beautiful in real life than it looks on Instagram!! We had a quiet Christmas at The Homestead and found Bega to be the best place to explore the surrounding c...oastal towns. Having a comfortable, beautiful home to come home to relax in every night is very important to us and The Homestead was pretty perfect in that regard. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Trish, Joe & Willow 🐶

The most beautiful stay, had all the creature comforts of home with a stunning view of the mountains, indoor fireplace and huge bathtub. Fresh bread and eggs provided for us added that thoughtful litt...le touch. So close to thathra, Pambula and Merimbula there is plenty to do! Will definitely come back again

Exploring The Town

Bega is a relaxed rural community that offers a tranquil lifestyle with an old fashioned country charm. We visited some thrifts and antique stores with lots of dining options around. Plus, the drive was super scenic to get here. Don't feel like driving? Stroll the quaint Candelo town instead.

Mimosa Rocks National Park

Mimosa Rocks National Park is home to beautiful beaches and stunning lagoons. The rocks themselves resemble a magic castle, the natural surroundings in the park support this fairy tale image. If you enjoy bird watching and bushwalking you will be amazed by the parks range of tracks and viewing sites. If the water is more your thing, make sure you pack your fishing rod and surfboard to explore the river meets the sea.

Swimming At Tathra Beach

Laze about and swim at beautiful Tathra Beach with its pristine white sand and clear blue waves. This summer-patrolled beach is a favourite of local families but never feels crowded. Enjoy the safety of knowing lifeguards are keeping a watchful eye on your family all through the summer and February too.The Tathra Surf Life Saving Club has delivered vigilant service to this district for over 100 years.

Mumbulla Creek Falls

If you are looking for a day's outing, you will be hard-pressed to beat the majestic Mumbulla Creek Falls. Located in the Biamanga National Park, this area is highly valued as a special place of customary lores and teaching to the Yuin people of the South Coast. Information boards on the cultural significance of the area are located along the raised wheelchair accessible boardwalk to the falls. There are free gas barbecues, picnic tables, and toilet facilities. Enjoy the beauty of this place and the natural rock slide into a deep pool. About a 45-minute drive from Tathra.

Bushwalking In Bournda National Park

There’s nothing quite like heading off on an adventure in the Australian coastal wilderness. The temperate climate of the Sapphire Coast means bushwalking can be enjoyed all year long. In summer, you can plan your walks around swimming, seeking out our estuaries and rivers and in winter climb to the snow-free peaks of our mountains. Our flora and fauna change greatly with the seasons and are the focus of careful management by rangers.
