The gorgeous wood fire sets the tone for the cosiest winter nights after a long day on the slopes while the reverse cycle heating & cooling means you can relax in true comfort year round, with a good movie or inspired catch-ups.

Your fully equipped kitchen allows for the perfect breakfast in bed or romantic dinner for two. BBQ under the gums in true Alpine style or enjoy fantastic pubs & cafes just a walk down the hill.
Your glass encased bathroom feels like you are showering amongst the gums, or close the blinds as you choose. The mood can take you away when you leave the world behind though...

Your unique & cosy master bedroom is a space like you've never experienced before. The comfiest queen bed perched high to bring you closer to the Alpine stars through your perfectly positioned windows, with a clever design makes you feel you are part of the natural surrounds.

An equally special 2nd bedroom also with a comfy king bed offers ground level delight.
Curl up on the high nook with your favourite book or maybe just some peace & privacy. Your own gorgeous half bathroom oozes rustic style.

Washing facilities are also available. Welcomed after a long hike or day cycling the peaks!

We had a great time staying in Black Mamba. Beautiful and spacious, it has everything taht you need and more! Close to a lot of walks and hikes, and surrounded by lots exciting places where you can just relax and have fun. 100% will stay again in the future!

Black Mamba House is an amazing spot. We really enjoyed our time there and hope to be back sometime. It is very close to Harrietville and Bright yet far away enough away to have peace and quiet surrounds. The house is beautifully designed with some nice little touches.

Joops Jetty

This swimming hole was created when a section of the Ovens River was cut off from the main river to dredge for gold. It has been converted to a swimming hole by volunteers who have built a jetty and floating pontoon. The lake is nestled in amongst a mix of tall native and European trees, with walking tracks around the edge of the lake and through the surrounding forest.

Bungalow Spur Hiking Trail

The Bungalow Spur Hiking Trail to the summit of Mt. Feathertop, is almost at the doorstep of the Black Mamba House!

Hv Kitchen

We stopped at HV Kitchen (former Morries Cafe) for a coffee and a fresh croissant on the way to the snow-covered mountains. The food was awesome, fresh and tasty... friendly service and a great atmosphere.

There are numerous short to medium walks all starting from your cottage door, maps and brochures are in the cottage. Also ask for a garden tour we would only be too pleased to do with you

Rivers

The beautiful Ovens, Buffalo and Buckland Rivers flow in wide valleys of cleared farmland surrounded by mountains. High annual rainfall and granite rocks in the mountains result in fast flowing, clear water rivers and tributaries. Drift along in a lilo, paddle a kayak or just cool off in summer in one of the many beautiful swimming holes

Feather Top Day Hike

Getting lost on 4WD tracks, we eventually found our way up to the track at Mount Feathertop. We hiked a part of the track that seems endless, with some of the best views I have witnessed in the country.
