We had a fantastic time staying at Dalrose Retreat over the weekend with my wife and dog. The place was amazing — plenty of room, beautiful space, and so relaxing. It was the perfect getaway and we re...ally appreciated how welcoming and comfortable everything was. Highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back!

Amazing weekend getaway with our friends and two dogs! Lauren was super friendly and responsive. She also provided a handy booklet with local things to see and do. The retreat was super clean and it had everything we needed. Can't wait to come back!

Absolutely loved staying at Dalrose Retreat! The alfresco area is amazing, even on the cold 5 degree nights, we lit up the fireplace and sat around the fire and it was perfectly warm. The beds were am...azing, we had fantastic sleep! The house was equipped with everything you need to cook meals. Super quiet and relaxing, and still only a 10min drive to the main shops and supermarket. Loved our stay, and will no doubt be back for round 2

I am passionate about our farming lifestyle, the freedom and open spaces it provides. We built Dalrose Retreat to give others the experience of rural life that we are lucky enough to enjoy every day.

Walk Or Ride The Gippsland Plains Rail Trail

The Gippsland Plain Rail trail is at your doorstep. Walk or ride into town over the beautiful bridge (Stratford) for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Or head west to Maffra, Tinamba and explore the gorgeous Gippsland countryside.

Fishing

Avon River has both large pools and sandy shallow beach areas to try your luck. Target species include eels, carp, redfin and bass with a few small trout.

Freestone Creek And Blue Pool

Only a short drive from the town of Briagolong on the Freestone Creek Road is a beautiful creek side picnic area with safe swimming. Travel a few more kilometers to The Arches and the most popular local swimming hole called The Blue Pool. Located approx 5km from Briagolong.
Blue Pools

Blue Pools

Tucked at the base of an enormous hill, with a pebble beach perfect to lay on in the sun and have a few beers. A dog friendly lake gave the dogs a much loved play in the water whilst we all drifted on flamingo lilo's basking in the arvo sun! Rope swings, small and large cliff jumps let us test our nerves as the day went on. A secret little gem hidden deep in the east, with very few people enjoying it on a 38 degree day.

Freestone Creek

We took the dogs down to Freestone creek and explored the area, there's four-wheel drive tracks and heaps of swimming spots, the dogs absolutely loved swimming and chasing the butterflies
