Sunvale’s our kind of place made for you. We’re a family of hedonists, who love to cook, party and play together, so we set Sunvale up to deliver the sort of stunning social experience we’d enjoy – in a very special natural setting.
The full-size kitchen is an entertainer’s delight complete with a dishwasher, multiple mini-refrigerators, large gas range, oven, and plenty of pots, pans and utensils. Give our Nespresso machine a workout or bring your hipster stove top coffee maker for that morning latte or almond cap on the deck. We’ve got you covered on all the essentials, including linen and towels but don’t forget to bring your own milk, fav coffee pods and tea.
We've created multiple living areas for you to enjoy. The main living area features a crackling fireplace backed by panoramic windows showcasing the valley views. You can screen a movie on the large wall-mounted TV, complete with free-to-air TV, a DVD player and HDMI port (don't forget your cables to connect your laptop or Apple TV).
Sunvale offers four bedrooms. Two featuring plush king-size beds along with stunning mountain views from the writing desk. Plus two bedrooms that can be configured with either two single beds or one king bed.
Each bedroom is equipped with its own individually controlled reverse cycle air-conditioning unit, ensuring your comfort year-round. And electric blankets for those clear, cold winter nights we love at Turon Gates.
Indulge in the two spacious bathrooms, each featuring a shower, vanity, and of course, a toilet. One of Sunvale’s bathrooms even boasts a bathtub perfectly sized for two.
We love kids but Sunvale’s for over 10's only and sorry no pets - we want to keep the luxury luxurious, so-to-speak. And with so much wildlife around you’ll be spoiled for animal company. Sunvale is the perfect setup for up to four couples or two couples with four single friends or young adult children.
Step onto the 100 sqm balcony, drag your eyes away from the view for a minute and you'll discover a log fire, timber panelled hot tub, a gas BBQ and dining table. Plus sun lounges to make the most of those mountain and valley views .
As the sun sets, get ready for a wildlife show, as ‘roos, wallabys, wombats and night birds emerge and feed out onto the grassy areas all around. Hint: that’s your cue to pop a cork, plate-up the nibbles and kick-back around your own fire pit in a comfortable camp chair.
Enjoy a guilt-free escape knowing your stay has a minimal environmental footprint, as Sunvale is almost entirely solar-powered with gas only used for the 4-burner stovetop.
Mobile reception is limited at Sunvale with no landline connections. But don’t worry, we offer basic WiFi access that’s fine for emails and browsing, but not streaming or large downloads. So take the chance for a digital detox if you can.
Pack good book, comfortable walking shoes, a swimsuit, and beach towels. And remember, since we are a self-catering accommodation, be sure to bring your own fine food, wine, and snacks. For a complete list of what we provide and suggestions to improve your stay, please hit our FAQ section on our website.
There’s plenty of parking at the lodge and rest assured our on-site managers are available 24/7 to help out if needed. You’ll find us an easy 25-minute drive down the hill from Sunvale or simply call from the landline phone or easy wifi call from your mobile in the lodge.
Book your stay today and start creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Turon gates is a beautiful property, we had 3 nights to relax and unwind after our wedding and it was perfect rain, hail and shine. We appreciated the hosts celebrating our milestone and how well thought out the home is for a comfortable stay. We will definitely be back for a camping trip or two!

We had a great time at Sunvale, the home was well prepared with the amenities needed. There are amazing views during the day, can see the stars when there's no clouds at night, great hot tub and fire ...wood all prepared.
Only wish would be for younger children to be allowed, it's such a great place and would stay again!

Soren and Sonya first came to Turon Gates in 1972 on a camping trip. They fell in love with its natural beauty and, after 4 days, decided they would love to retire there some day. Their dream was to create a bush retreat close enough to get away for a few days but far enough to leave the hustle and bustle of the city far behind.

Hiking Bird Watching
The Turon and Capertee Valleys' have always been famous for amazing birdlife. Aside from the Wedge-Tail Eagles soaring along Eagle Hawk Drive on the eastern side of the valley, the large assortment of birds never fails to impress. Springtime (September to November) is the best in terms of numbers, a good assortment is prevalent all year round. Enjoy from your balcony or go for a hike.

Forest Walks
There are plenty of walks surrounding the cabin. Enjoy the beautiful nature and say hello to the kangaroos living in the area.
Capertree Pub Feed
The Royal Hotel meets all the requirements of a regional pub feed and is only 10-minutes from Turon Gates.

The Royal Hotel
A super cosy little hotel located not too far away from the cabin. Head here for some lunch or maybe just enjoy a beer in the sun on the back veranda. Whatever you feel like it’s worth a visit. Craft Works Distillery is also located at the back of the hotel in a small tin shed.
Capertee Valley
The Capertee Valley is recognised internationally as an Important Bird Area (IBA) and one of the 50 top birdwatching locations in the world. A diversity of habitats has resulted in a proliferation of bird species finding refuge here. Surrounded on all sides by spectacular sandstone cliffs, the valley is in transition zone where the forests of the Blue Mountains give way to the woodlands of the NSW western slopes.
Vegetation varies from semi-rainforest to open forest, grassy woodlands and farmland grasslands. Not as heavily cleared as many other rural areas, the valley retains large areas of the critically endangered White Box–Yellow Box–Blakely’s Red Gum Grassy Woodland and Derived Native Grassland. Many woodland bird species, whose populations have fallen alarmingly elsewhere, remain relatively common and easily seen here.

Gardens Of Stone National Park
Head to the Gardens of Stone National Park - part of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. See rock formations where erosion has sculpted beehive-shaped domes. The National Park’s garden- like appearance is due to Banksia, dwarf casurinas and other wind-pruned heathland plants.
