North facing & sunny and spacious The Shearers' Cottage has its own private gardens, relaxing outdoor bath; cosy wood fire; 5 acres of sub-tropical gardens; private jetty, kayaks and fishing rods, and deserted sandy beaches a short paddle downstream at Takou Bay. The cottage is nestled in our 150 acre organic farm surrounded by native bush, river front, and just 20 minutes from Kerikeri.

The cosy and spacious cottage offers an ideal base to explore the wider Bay of Islands, Kerikeri, Russell and Paihia, as well as allowing families to sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and all the amenities on offer at Takou River.

Beautifully furnished, the cottage offers peace and privacy; a large master bedroom with en suite bathroom and private deck with romantic outdoor bath; a second queen bedroom, and third bunk bedroom as well as a separate family bathroom and laundry. The cottage has a lovely open plan living area with a cosy wood fire, fully equipped kitchen, ideal for self catering; spacious and private north facing decks and gardens and use of all the facilities at Takou River. The Shearers Cottage at Takou River is the perfect destination in itself ideal for relaxing and basking in the bliss of doing absolutely nothing, or heading out and about to explore.
