This little weatherboard cottage is a perfect getaway for those that love the country and gardens. The cottage includes bar fridge, microwave, bbq, tea and coffee, newly designed bathroom, king size bed, plantation shutters, a backdrop onto a peony paddock, surrounds of birch, beech, copper beech, aspens, maples, poplars, witch hazel, dogwood and forest pansys.

The self contained cottage features lovely soft furnishings French linen and a view over a lovely English style garden. The property is nestled in the Victorian Alps town of Stanley with incredible walks, bike paths and the snowy mountain surrounds, and at 800 metres above sea level occasional snow.

The cottage also has a new starlink fast speed internet dedicated to just the cottage, so you can always remain online if needed or do some work while away.

We were SO happy with our winter stay at this charming cottage on the peony farm. Although the flowers weren’t in bloom, the frosty mornings and white birch trees made for a beautiful winter setting. ...Thoughtful touches like fresh sourdough, butter and a beautifully styled dusky pink bathroom made us feel right at home!

The standout was the incredibly comfortable bed, easily one of the best we’ve ever slept in! We’d happily return!

PS. Stanley Pub nearby was a total vibe!

We stayed at Peony Cottage for two nights recently and loved it. Beautiful comfy bed and charming cottage.Found plenty to do around the area and Beechworth. Definitely would recommend the beautiful Stanley Pub for dinner too.

The Cosy Stanley Pub

A cosy, vintage styled pub with high quality meals at night as well as a cafe/lounge space during the day. We spent a lot of time here from morning coffee to mulled wine in the afternoon.

Stanley Walks

The Stanley community have beautifully documented and signposted more than 20km of walks through local orchards, farms and the bushland. Further brochures are available at the cottage. Just one of many things to do in the alpine area.

Beechworth Tour

We spent our time drifting around the beautiful township of Beechworth. Lots of cute little hidden gems here including vintage shops, jewellery shops, ancient buildings and wine corners.
