Birch Creek Farm & Cottages invites you to come and stay with us at The June.

Embraced by rolling fields and native gum trees, our two adjoining cottages offer a beautiful country retreat in the heart of our working farm - goats, cattle, alpacas and a few busy beehives. The farm is tucked into the foot of the Mornington Peninsula Hinterland, only minutes away from the front bay beaches and a short drive from the rugged coastline and waves of the Peninsula back beaches. In all directions you will find a bounty of cafes, independent stores, markets, wineries, restaurants and walks to enjoy.

Additional Information

The June at Birch Creek offers a spacious two bedroom, one bathroom cottage with open plan kitchen, dining and living room looking out over our farm and towards the foot of Red Hill. With an abundance of natural light, the cottage is bright throughout the seasons with an open fireplace to keep you toasty and warm in the winter months. A generous sized master bedroom with a big north facing window overlooking the gardens provides the perfect place for an out of town getaway and a peaceful nights rest. Enjoy the outdoors with a stroll around the grounds and farm, relax near the dam or under the trees in our little park tucked away between the paddocks. Take in the sunset with a glass of wine in the open deck bath tub as you look out to undisturbed countryside - and the goats of course.

Please note that this cottage does adjoin our other cottage accomodation offering, The Mavis. We have done a lot of work to ensure minimal noise travel between the two cottages and it goes without saying that the outdoor baths are private from each other!

Birch Creek is the home of our goat stud Southern Peninsula Boers and as such we have a strict no pets policy, thank you.

Family and friends are most welcome in The June with the additional second bedroom opened up through selecting 3-4 people whilst booking - this will add a small cleaning fee to your booking total.

If you would like to book both our June & our Mavis cottages (a perfect weekend away for all sleeping a total of 6 people) please use the 'ask a question' button and I can put an offer together for you.

My partner and I stayed at The June for a much needed weekend away. Despite being from Melbourne, we love to explore more of our own state.
Arrival at The June came with great instructions, and upon ...entry were met with an amazing loaf of sound sourdough from a local bakery. The provided welcome instructions were great as well.
The cabin was well appointed, and while I dont normally like to stay in places with adjoining accommodation we were lucky enough not to see the neighbours in the other cabin at all.
The views of the farm were stunning, and our multiple daily walks along the central lane way allowed us to feed the cheeky goats and the gorgeous cows. The outdoor bath was a great experience.
The local area has plenty of great food options and activities to do.
We had a brief interaction with the hosts during one of our laneway walks, and they were lovely too.
It's worth noting that mobile reception (Telstra network) was there but not amazing.
Overall a fantastic stay and would happily recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area.

We loved our stay at Birch creek. The communication was great with Caitlyn and Nick before-hand and the farm is beautiful. It's in a great central location for exploring the peninsula and our toddler ...loved meeting the friendly goats and cows in the paddocks around the house. Would highly recommend (and would love to go back)!

G'Day, We are Caitlyn and Nick, your friendly Horticulturist, Industrial Designer, chair maker, spoon carving, goat farming, rental cottage hosts! Caitlyn originally is from the Yarra Valley whilst Nick was born and raised down here on the sunny Mornington Peninsula. We have been on the farm now since early 2017, turning a long time dream into a reality, one never ending list of jobs at a time! We love calling the farm here in Dromana, with our menagerie of animals, home and with a pretty decent mental library of local knowledge we are always happy to share recommendations on restaurants, wineries, breweries, coffee shops, local artists, makers, coastal/bush walks and drives. We hope to have you stay one day soon!

Boer Goat Playtime & Kidding Season

Boer Goat Playtime Kidding Season

The 2022 kidding season is set to start in mid October and runs through to the end of November - we are hoping to see around 50 little ones born during this time. There will be babies that need bottle feeding and they always love a play and cuddle.

Meet The Goats

Meeting the farm's herd of gorgeous Boer goats was indeed a real highlight of our stay. The Host showed us around the property and allowed us to feed these gentle creatures and meet the cheeky alpacas that watch over the herd. We can't wait to return to the property during kidding season when the babies arrive.

Lunch At Tucks

Wintry weekends call for comfort food and great wine, and we certainly found it here. We loved being able to tuck into a delicious meal overlooking the vineyards yet still be toasty and warm inside their heated terrace. Afterwards you can indulge yourself in a tasting or laze the day away on their adult sized timber tree swing.

Mossy Willow Farm

By far the most adorable grocery store we've experienced in our lives. Set amidst the farm's lush green acres, an old timber barn houses the day's fresh produce foraged from the land itself. Fairy lights throw just enough light for you to wander mindfully, collecting your greens in wicker baskers or enjoy a hearty bowl of soup cooked on the fire.

There's something beautiful about beach walks on wild days with the wind in your hair and your winter woollies shielding you from the cold. We walked along this classic old pier, jutting out towards Bass Strait where you can see rugged cliffs down the coast and views of Phillip Island in the distance.

Explore Peninsula Highlands

We took a drive around the Peninsula's rugged side where rolling hills meet the wild ocean and Antarctic winds blow the world's cleanest air across the land. Braving the weather we watched the storms roll in towards the Cape Schanck lighthouse and stopped roadside regularly to say hi to grazing locals or take in the endless photo opps along the coast.
