Experience total immersion in nature at "Avem Haven", a charming eco-cabin nestled on the peaceful 13-acre bush property, "Fieri Natura" only minutes from the township of Kangaroo Valley. This secluded, private sanctuary offers all the comforts you need for a relaxing getaway, including an outdoor hot water bath and shower, a cozy fire pit, and the surrounding beauty of local wildlife, including a resident wombat.

Inside, you’ll find all essentials provided, from fresh linens and towels to basic items like tea, coffee, milk, oil, salt and pepper. Unwind on the verandah with a glass of wine listening to the array of bird species, enjoy a BBQ by the fire, or snuggle up in the queen-sized bed with a book or a DVD from the large collection or chill to tunes of the CDs supplied. There is a small fridge, induction cook top and microwave as well as a toaster and kettle and even a portable cooler fan for those hot days.

For an added touch of healing and tranquility, your host offers a variety of wellness experiences on the property such as Equine Assisted Learning, or in the sacred Healing Hut: Massage, Equine Assisted Learning, Cacao Ceremonies, Crystal Singing Bowl Sound Bath, Rapid Transformational Therapy, and more.

Beautiful cabin in great location to KV.
My partner and stayed here for a long weekend and came away feeling grounded and at peace’s.
We enjoyed stripping back the hustle and bustle of modern day li...ving and enjoying no wifi, dvds and board games together.
Horses wombats and kangaroos all came to greet us.

Avem Haven is a beautiful retreat from the pace of the city. The space is set up with everything you could need for a great location with kangaroos and horses all around. The cabin was easily accessed and very close to town and local sites. Host communication was great and very helpful.

We had a really relaxing time at the cabin. It’s a quaint cabin that feels a bit like stepping back into the 90’s with the DVs and other things around. It’s a beautiful spot and being close to Kangaro...o Valley Township was perfect. The outside bath was cute and the hot water amazing. The cabin itself is a little rickety and the giant wombat hole underneath could cause some structural issues into the future. But I’d definitely recommend this for a little escape.

Kayaking And Bushwalking

Paddle a canoe on Kangaroo River, visit Fitzroy Falls; go bush walking, horse riding or simply meander through the sleepy village of Kangaroo Valley.

After walking through the village in the morning, we decided to cross over the historic Hampton Bridge, which led us to the Pioneer Village Museum. The museum provided a great historical tour of Kangaroo Valley, and the surrounding creek also offered a short bushwalking track. After the tour, we hopped into our swimmers and jumped in the water just below the iconic bridge.

To top off a day of exploring, we came across Kangaroo River what else do you do other than jump in. Word of warning, it's not warm (check facial expressions and speed of exit), but when you have an indoor fireplace waiting for you back at The Barn Cottage, why not?

Bushwalking In The Valley

We love a good bush walk and recommend Drawing Room Rocks for beautiful views over the south coast. For those wanting a spectacular view without the huff and puff of a hike, Red Rocks is amazing at sunset.

Scenic Drive

We decided to take a short drive through the valley stopping in at various beautiful farmlands. We stopped at one that was a particularly special treat as it was home to one of my favourite cows, the Scottish Highlander bull. These were stunning to see up close.
