This enchanting three bedroom, two bathroom cottage, adorned with an intricate stonemason frontage, sits on what was once the Porepunkah timber mill in 1915.

Cottage Two is a newly built home and pays homage to its surroundings past whilst perfectly complementing its neighboring sister cottage. On arrival to this classic alpine home, with its elegantly styled interior, it won't take you long to appreciate the cottage and the unique picturesque setting in which it sits.

On entering the property, you are greeted by an open plan kitchen, dining and living. The space light and bright will draw you in to enjoy the comfort of the large couch perfectly placed in front of the wood fire.

Centrally located and just a short walk from Porepunkah's town center, it provides a unique and cozy retreat in a picturesque setting

We had a lovely weekend at The Tradesman’s Cottage. The cottage was beautifully presented, clean and a lot of thoughtful touches throughout. The property is in an ideal location for the exploring the surrounding area and only a short walk to the pub and cafe.

Such a cute little cottage — we absolutely loved our stay here. The interior design was done so beautifully and made the whole place feel warm and cozy from the moment we walked in. The fireplace was ...perfect for the chilly evenings, and the cottage had all the facilities and little touches you could need for a comfortable stay. To top it all off, the house is located on a beautiful street filled with autumn leaves, which made the whole experience feel even more magical. Would definitely love to come back again.

Dinner At Porepunkah Pub

Porepunka pub is a vibe! It's a fantastic local pub that is clearly loved by it's locals, with a great outdoor area out the front for a bev or two. The food was great as expected, and the locals were super friendly and welcoming, even Mr Pickles got lots of pats and attention.

Rail Trail Cafe

If you're exploring the High Country you have to stop by this place for coffee and local food.

At the end of the Bushies Love Shack driveway, you’ll see the rail trail, at this time of year the autumn leaves are changing color and are amazing to see.

Exploring Braithwaites Plantation

On the way to Bright, you can stop by Braithwaites Plantation for a forest walk, a photography mission or an excuse to smell the fresh air. It's a small, pine forest that is perfectly aligned with Mount Buffalo. I never thought it could be so amazingly captured by a drone flight.

We hiked from the Eurobin Creek car park to the top of Mount Buffalo.

Canyon Walk

Starting from Howitt Park head towards the Star Road Bridge. The track on the northern bank of the Ovens River has steep steps. Cross either of the suspension bridges to create a short or long loop. This walk takes you past a small canyon carved by the Ovens River and water races dug by early miners. Watch for birdlife and wild flowers especially in spring.
