La Baracca was a beautiful, peaceful, accommodation that was prefect for our honeymoon. It was close enough to Bright to enjoy all it had to offer, yet far enough away for ultimate peace and serenity.... We loved the eclectic cottage it's design and all its unique and upcycled decor.
We enjoyed the local parkrun on the Saturday (just around the corner), five over to Harrietville to indulge in some Harrietville Bakery pastries, chilled at the Wandi Nut Festival (April) and enjoyed some warm, fresh roasted chestnuts, rode out bikes to the Wandi Pub for a few games of pool, rode our bikes into Bright and enjoyed breaky at a cafe (Riff Raff Cafe), and gorgeous walks (up to the lookout and along the Ovens River). We had a beautiful dinner on Bright at Tomahawks, and got up super early one morning and drove to Mount Buffalo to catch a sunrise up at The Horn and enjoyed other gorgeous, fun hikes (The Gorge, Chalwell Galleries, Lake Catani and The Monolith).
La Baracca was a beautiful, cosy and warm place to come home to each evening. Thanks for an easy, comfy, fun, well hosted stay.

We had such a relaxing stay at La Baracca. The home is beautiful with many thoughtful touches, and very comfortable despite 40+ degree heat!
A perfect base for us with our newborn baby to enjoy the food and wine of the region and spend a few days relaxing at the river in Bright.

Adventures Nearby
Here are some details about the adventures nearby. Refer to the map for their location.
Wandi Pub
Cute little rustic pub. Good spot for a game of pool, beer and mixing with the locals which also has live music on the weekends.
Wandiligong Town
Just 10 minutes from the centre of Bright, this spot puts you close to everything – think scenic hikes, photo-worthy views, a top-notch meal at 5 Acres, and a peaceful wander through the Japanese garden. While you're in the area, don’t miss Wandiligong – a charming little town that’s well worth the detour.
Mystic Bike Park
Plans to ride the park were stopped as they had closed it for the enduro world cup, so we hiked up and watch the best do their thing on the tracks. Some of the best riding in the country.
Indulging In Bright
We went home to Melbourne via Bright, eating and drinking our way through the town. We had an awesome lunch at the super cool Tomohawk, followed by a gin tasting flight at Reed & Co Distillery. Stumbling across the sprawling sunflower fields in Ovens was the perfect end to the trip.
Sixpence Coffee
It didn't take long for the new cool kids and legendary bean roasters Sixpence to claim the 'king of the coffee' crown in town. Roasting their own unique blends on location in Bright. Located in the heart of town.
Reed Co Gin
After a long day of exploring, a stiff drink was in order. Reed & Co offered the perfect wind down with some amazing tastings and knowledgable crew to help us out.
