A truly unique experience: spending an intimate and adventurous night in the snow. Founder Jean-Francois Rupp will take you on an evening snowshoe adventure through the snow gums to reach his hidden eco-village and central tipi, where he’ll assist you to prepare your own French cheese fondue, then bid you goodnight for a cosy night's sleep in the heated, sustainable snow-domes.
We head off around 16.30 for an easy 30 minute Snowshoe walk (450m) through the picturesque snow gums to the eco-village where you’ll enjoy a delicious heart warming glass of Glühwein or hot chocolate outside by the fire.
You will then be invited in the central tipi with a fireplace, where you will learn the secrets to making a traditional and mouth-watering French fondue, with cheese imported for the occasion from French Alpine farms.
After a 3 course dinner we will sit around the fire sharing a few drinks and stories drinks (maybe even some dancing). We usually finish around 9:00pm and no later than 23:30.
Igloo to Skidoo guests will waive the rest of the group goodbye and settle in their Hypdome for a cosy night looking at the stars from the warmth of their bed.
Next morning, a hearty warm breakfast will be served under the main tipi. Around 9:30am, you will be picked up by the Skidoo and enjoy a scenic ride back to the wire plain car park.
We have 3 Hypedomes and can accommodate up to 12 guests overnight. Be in touch for group bookings.

Our new hypedomes are sustainably built with one idea in mind: simplicity is a luxury.
Think of it as an Igloo, but dry, with a view, warmer and with a comfortable bed and plush blanket! And added bonus: food and drinks with a French touch!
To earn a glass of the well kept family recipe vin chaud, guests must first embark on an easygoing and informative guided snowshoe tour along a beautiful, meandering trail into the snow-dusted forest to thehidden eco-village.
Then gather by the roaring outdoor fire and mingle with the otherguests before entering the fire-heated tipi where you will learn the secrets of a traditional French fondue as part of a freshly prepared, three-course dinner. Cheeses are carefully selected from French alpine farms in the Savoie and Haute Savoie regions where business owner, Jean-Francois, spent his childhood.

As a nod to JF's previous work in the Rutherglen wine industry, wines are selected with the same care as the cheese; working directly with a handful of selected local winemakers to guarantee a deep understanding of the winemaking process and to ensure aperfect match for all palates. The range of perfectly paired wines are available for purchase by the glass and bottle at the tipi, alongside locally brewed craft beers, various Australian and French liquors and softdrinks.... and more mulled wine of course!

Growing up in the French Alps, I have always been very passionate about the mountains. After spending most of my life in the snow I have relocated to the high country in 2015 with my wife. She is Australian.
I fell in love with the Australian Alps and realised that all the core elements I was missing from home were there, ready to be unveiled: The snow, the beautiful and unique scenery, the history, the good food and amazing people.
