Growing up in the French Alps, I have always been very passionate about the mountains. After spending most of my life in the snow I have relocated to the high country in 2015 with my wife. She is Australian. I fell in love with the Australian Alps and realised that all the core elements I was missing from home were there, ready to be unveiled: The snow, the beautiful and unique scenery, the history, the good food and amazing people. In 2017 I combined my passion for the outdoors with these core elements and created Alpine Nature Experience with one goal in mind: Get people to experience the beauty of the Australian Alps and the snow environment without having to ski or be intrepid. As John Muir wrote once, the mountains are calling and I must go, (and I will work on while I can, studying incessantly.)

Snow Shoe Hiking

There is a short snowshoe to get to the eco-village, but it was nice and easy stopping along the way to hear some stories about the first occupants of Australian Alps.

Hit the slopes for a ski or snowboard! Or simply take in the incredible views of layered mountains as far as the eye can see. Rocky outcrops and snowgums dot the snow clad mountains in winter, but these alps are as gloriously beautiful even without the snow!

On the way in or out be sure to stop in at all the small snowy towns located throughout the High Country, Omeo is excellent as is Bright and plenty of others. Depending on the time of year you could bring your board or skis and shred the slopes for a day!
