Our stay at Yanakie House was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the peaceful surroundings, stunning views, and the feeling of complete relaxation that the pro...perty offers.
The house was beautifully presented, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a memorable stay. Waking up to the natural beauty of Yanakie each morning and being so close to Wilson’s Promontory made the experience even more special.
What made our visit truly unforgettable was that we chose Yanakie as the place to celebrate our elopement. Surrounded by family, (10 of which comfortably stayed at the property with the usage of the fold out futon) love, and the breathtaking beauty of the area, it created memories that we will cherish forever.
The property provided perfect balance of privacy, comfort, and connection to nature. Whether enjoying the views, exploring the local area, or simply relaxing, every moment felt special to the point were we did not want to leave ever.
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful property. We leave with full hearts, wonderful memories, and a strong desire to return again very soon.

We were a group of 9 and stayed at Yanakie House for 2 nights, and it was honestly perfect for a big group getaway. The house is spacious, well laid out, and has everything a large group needs to feel... comfortable and settled. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The location is amazing — with a beautiful open view right in front of the house and only a short drive to Wilsons Promontory National Park. It made our trip super convenient for visiting places like Tidal River, Squeaky Beach, and Whisky Bay.
What we loved most was how easy it was for a big group to cook, relax, and hang out together. There was plenty of common space, good kitchen facilities, comfortable bedrooms, and enough room for everyone to spread out without feeling cramped. Parking was also simple and accessible, which is a big plus for multiple cars.
Overall, Yanakie House is a great base for groups visiting Wilsons Prom — clean, spacious, well-equipped, and in a fantastic location. We’d happily stay here again, and will definitely recommend it to family and friends!

The refurbishment of the Yanakie House and Cabins has allowed me to express my lifelong interest in art, collecting and making. I immediately loved the connection I developed with the space. My creative and practical skills were combined to create an artistic and relaxing paradise in one of the most beautiful locations in the world. I have ensured access for all levels of mobility and now I want to be able to share this with all of you!
The Yanakie House is a perfect base for my walks into the prom, we are ten minutes from the gate of Wilson’s Promontory National Park. My first ever hike was through stunning Wilsons Promontory many years ago and I have wonderful childhood memories of Christmas in my uncle’s VW combi on Waratah Bay.
Yanakie, a Koori name from the Gunai language, is interpreted as “ between the waters’ draws strong parallels to it's incredible heritage. To our South West is beautiful Waratah Bay and Sandy Point with their fabulous swimming beaches. To the East, Foster, Port Franklin and Toora open onto Corner Inlet. The region has is a strong aboriginal heritage, nearby is Toora, (which translates from the Koori Gunai as “women who look after the fire and keep the fire alight’.
From me to you, I would love you to enjoy this space. Come and get creative, reflect, relax. There are so many stunning hikes, places to visit, fish to catch, you can paint or do yoga in our studio, set up a marquee for a special day or just relax with an indescribable view.

The Big Drift
Returning to the Wilsons Promontory for a second little adventure, we were blown away by this incredible spot that I'm sure many miss! Just beyond the entrance to the national park, you can take a walk through the bush to arrive at these expansive dunes. It feels like you've stepped into the Sahara Desert and the ever-changing winds means the only footsteps you'll likely see are your own.
Sunrise At Shallow Inlet Marine Coastal Park
You can drive very few beaches right up to the waters each in Victoria, but this is one of them! Less than five minutes drive from the villas is a Shallow inlet. If you're early enough, it's the perfect place to watch the sunrise over the water backdropped by the mountains of Wilsons Prom. The sheltered waters of the park make it perfect for getting your feet wet without having to tackle the surf
Explore The Waratah Bay Coastline
If you are lucky enough, like I was, to have a friend who lives in the area with a vintage Land Rover, I suggest jumping in it and going for a local tour of the bay. There are some great beaches, coastal views and limestone cliffs – keep a lookout for local wildlife, too!
Sunset At Mt Nicoll
We decided to check out the sunset from nearby Mt Nicoll. Only ten minutes away from the Old Dairy, this was an easy choice. A short five minute hike through bushland leads you to the top for panoramic views of the surrounding hills and towards Wilson's Prom. The golden glow over the hills was phenomenal, we watched the sun go down with the local roos and wallabies.
Sunset is my pick for the best time to visit. The drive up the hill is a little steep on loose gravel and may not suit smaller cars.

Three Bays Walk
We walked from Whisky Bay to Tidal River. It's an easy undulating walk that takes you across multiple beaches with endless coves to explore. Recommend taking a picnic lunch and stopping along the way.
Whiskey Bay Beach
Scaling the boulders at 'Whiskey Bay' Beach was a blast.
