COTTAGE DETAILS
The Growers Cottage is a one bedroom open plan cottage on 25 acres of land sitting below the Dharug National Park.
The cottage is surrounded by many fruit trees; apples, limes, lemons and pear trees to name a few. Vegetables are grown outside the door & we will let you know what is ripe and ready to eat when you stay!
Relax in front of the log fire in winter or enjoy the warmth of summer with the air-conditioning within, with scenic views of the surrounding mountains.
Relax in a beautiful solid stone outdoor bath overlooking the surrounding mountains. Fire up the outdoor wood-fired pizza oven and cook delicious pizzas, or cook your food on the Weber BBQ and afterwards sit around the outdoor steel fire pit and toast some marshmallows! Enjoy a well deserved sleep-in on our beautiful “Koala” bed snuggled within the worlds best sheets, Koala’s luxurious Eucalyptus fibre bed linen!
Lower mangrove is a beautifully secluded and sheltered area that is a great place to visit, a real hidden gem very close to Sydney (under an hours drive from Hornsby)
The closest 'shop' to Lower Mangrove is in Spencer, a 10 minute drive away, it is open 6 days a week excluding Tuesday and has some basic provisions, it also does a nice scone and jam and great burgers - it is best to bring all of your supplies with you for the meals you plan to have at home. The closest large shopping centre is at Gosford which is 45 mins away so best to come prepared!
The town of Wisemans Ferry has a beautiful old stone pub and the drive there is a nice one ending with a trip on the Wisemans car ferry (free of charge) to cross the river to the town.
At Mangrove Mountain, The Springs golf course has a great restaurant and golf course that are worth a visit.
On the way to the cottage there are many local growers where you can buy organic fruit and vegetables, as well as many honesty boxes along the sides of the road where you can purchase fresh seasonal produce.

Where do we even begin? We had the most incredible stay at the Growers Cottage. We were lucky enough to get engaged at one of the most beautiful places, the Growers Cottage, only because of Pascale an...d Sandy. We had everything we needed from an indoor fire place every night, to a relaxing bath listening to the nature surrounding us. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to rewind, relax and reconnect.
We were lucky enough to see the local wombats at dusk and lots of cute rabbits running around. We took a short trip through the mountains and into a small local town Spencer, where we listed to live music, had some wine and fed the ducks along the stunning river. Pascale and Sandy were the most accomodating hosts we have ever communicated with, always happy to help and so friendly. We spent our weekend in nature, drinking wine, playing games, sitting in front of the fire, relaxing in the outdoor bath and just switching off from the busy world we live in.
We couldn’t recommend the Growers Cottage more and we can’t thank Pascale and Sandy enough for being such wonderful hosts. Thanks again for making our trip one to remember, see you next year!

My husband Sandy and myself love the outdoors and spending time in the cottage garden planting new vegetables for you to enjoy! We love our busy "little ladies", our bees and enjoy leaving our guests some delicious honey for their visit. We live in Sydney so the property is often all yours to enjoy - and our hope is that our visitors will love the natural beauty of the area and the surrounding beautiful Hawkesbury region as much as we do.
