The perfect space to relax with family and friends, The Lodge is set in our stunning 5 acre sub tropical gardens on the banks of the tranquil and unspoilt Takou River, surrounded by our 150 acre farm. Offering seclusion, peace and stunning river views, the 4 bedroom self-catering Lodge is an indulgent riverside retreat. Overlooking the river with swimming holes, native bush, walks, fishing, swimming, glow worms, beach access and kayaks, this secluded sanctuary is the ultimate base for families, friends or a couple wishing to relax and explore the Bay of Islands and wider Far North area, just 25 minutes from Kerikeri.

The Lodge is self catering and sole occupancy.

North facing, sunny and spacious with stunning views across the gardens to the river, The Lodge is the perfect family escape; the ideal place for family and friends looking to relax, unwind and reconnect. The spacious Lodge offers an ideal base to explore the wider Bay of Islands, Kerikeri, Russell and Paihia, as well as allowing families to sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and all the amenities on offer at Takou River.

Beautifully furnished, the Lodge offers space, peace and privacy; a large master bedroom looks due north towards the river and opens directly into the gardens. It features beautiful double height cathedral ceilings, stunning wooden floors, super king bed, walk in wardrobe and spacious en suite bathroom including an indoor spa bath, shower, double sinks and WC.

Three further spacious king/twin bedrooms (one on the ground floor and two upstairs) all have stunning views, beautiful wooden floors and ceilings and offer spacious and flexible accommodation for a large group. The Lodge also has a second bathroom, separate shower room and separate WC all on the ground floor.

The centre piece and heart of the Lodge is the stunning double height open plan living area with beautiful wooden cathedral ceilings, wooden floors and stunning north facing views with doors and windows opening directly into the gardens. A cosy wood fire makes it an ideal winter escape, while the river on your doorstep means summer swims are a minutes walk away. The Lodge has a fully equipped kitchen ideal for self catering, including dishwasher, espresso coffee machine, large fridge freezer, microwave, gas hob and electric oven.

The Lodge at Takou River is the perfect destination in itself ideal for relaxing and basking in the bliss of doing absolutely nothing, or as a base for exploring Kerikeri, the Bay of Islands and Far North.

A separate free standing riverside Hot Tub and relaxing massages can also be booked as optional extras (fees and pre-bookings are required).
