Walk Through Patonga Down To The Beach
We strolled from the house through to the beach with a stop off at the local park.
Cocktails At The Boat House
A short walk from the house, we stopped in at the Beach House and sampled some of their delicious cocktails.
Dinner And Drinks At The Boathouse
The Boathouse Patonga is perched looking out over the water; with a vino in hand waiting for the sunset, it was dreamy. They have great food and a good vibe all round, and if you're there on the right night even some live music; the perfect end to a day of swimming and summer fun.
Hiking The Pearl Beach To Patonga Track
We started our weekend with a hike along the Pearl Beach to Patonga track. Starting at Pearl Beach, this track winds its way up to the top of the mountain then down the other side to Patonga. There were plenty of flowers, given it was spring, and as you leave Pearl Beach it's more rainforest and caves before opening up to beautiful views. At the top of the walk is the Warrah Lookout, where, even on a cloudy day, you can see for ages! A chorus of cockatoo calls kept us company on the way back, echoing through the valley. We then hiked back and had lunch at Pearl Beach – bring your togs if the weather is nice as the beach is beautiful.
Hiking From Pearl Beach To Patonga
An approximately 8km return hike from Pearl Beach to Patonga takes you along the fire trials before descending through lush bushland and down (and up) steep stone staircases. The hike has stunning views looking out to the Palm Beach headland and lighthouse. Finish the hike with a dip, or have a coffee break at the Boathouse in Patonga before heading back.
Pearl Beach Visit
We stopped in at Pearl Beach to watch the waves rolling in to shore. A huge coastal storm had washed in a massive swell which was battering the shoreline with some of the biggest waves we had ever seen.
