We stayed at Nic’s for a long weekend. It was exactly what we needed, a quiet peaceful get away. All the amenities you need are available: shower with hot water, kitchen, dunny, the caravan had a hea...ter which was the perfect size. Everything was clean and fresh. The area has multiple hiking trails within a few minutes drive. We hiked to an abandoned mine site and saw some yellow tailed black cockatoos, very cool. Wish we had more time to explore the area!

Valley Of The Dinosaurs
A loop walk around Valley of the Dinosaurs feels like stepping back in time. The track winds gently through ancient bushland, surrounded by towering sandstone cliffs and pockets of rainforest that hint at the deep history of this landscape. Cycads and tall gums line the path, giving the walk a quiet, almost prehistoric atmosphere.
The loop unfolds at an easy pace, with moments of openness followed by sheltered sections where the air cools and the forest closes in. It’s a walk that invites curiosity and imagination, encouraging you to slow down and take it all in. Grounded, peaceful, and rich with a sense of discovery, the Valley of the Dinosaurs leaves you feeling connected to the land and its vast, enduring story.

The Royal Hotel
A super cosy little hotel located not too far away from the cabin. Head here for some lunch or maybe just enjoy a beer in the sun on the back veranda. Whatever you feel like it’s worth a visit. Craft Works Distillery is also located at the back of the hotel in a small tin shed.
Lunch At The Royal Hotel
A beer at the Royal Hotel in Capertee. Classic quintessential country pub.

Forest Walks
There are plenty of walks surrounding the cabin. Enjoy the beautiful nature and say hello to the kangaroos living in the area.

Surround Yourself With Glowworms
Located in Wollemi national park, the glowworm tunnels is a unique experience to walk through. Once you walk in, make sure you stay in one spot for a few minutes to let your eyes adjust to the darkness. And soon you’ll see glowworms surround the entire tunnel!
Driving to Glowworm Tunnel can be tricky, there's a long dirt road (~30km!) with LOTS of potholes. Mind you the roads are REALLY TOUGH! It took us double the amount of time to get there. We suggest driving a 4WD AND allow extra time.
