This property is just sensational. Located close to Foster (~5 minute drive to town centre) but also nestled away in beautiful rolling hills of farmland. An easy drive to nearby towns and Wilson’s Pro...m.
The hut was clean, comfy and had basic necessities including cutlery/crockery, a toaster, kettle and mini fridge. The only cooking appliance is a BBQ, located near the outdoor firepit.
Our only feedback is there are only sheer blinds on the front windows, meaning early rises with the first light of a day (not necessarily a bad thing!) and being able to see inside the hut from the exterior if indoor lights are on (it is nestled away on a private property).
As for the hosts, unfortunately we didn’t meet Aly but Alex was absolutely wonderful for our experience - respected our privacy and space but was also welcoming and accomodating. It felt like visiting a family member! He is so knowledgeable of the area, and was happy to take us on a tour of his property and we were able to meet the farm animals and were provided a wealth of information about the farming lifestyle they lead. We were also lucky enough to have some home made jam and English muffins dropped off on arrival!
Overall, we couldn’t recommend this stay more - it truly feels like visiting a home away from home, and encourages you to slow down in the heart of South Gippsland!
We will be visiting again! Thank you to Alex and Aly for sharing your slice of paradise with guests. :)

My pup & I had the most beautiful, relaxing stay in Foster. The ecohut was heavenly & perfect for a relaxing getaway. Alex was a brilliant host who made us feel so welcomed & cared for. Such a beautiful property, close to town. Will definitely be booking again!

Skyes Cafe And Courtyard
You'd never guess it but this cafe is constantly selling out of and restocking their sushi counter. The mix mash of the Italian decor and sushi offerings is confusing at first but why not get a little bit of everything you need? We got our morning coffee and grabbed some sushi hand roll and nigiri to-go for our jaunt to Wilson's Prom for the day.
Deep Creek Stall Countryside Treasures
A charming roadside stall offers homegrown veggies, vibrant seedlings, and handcrafted organic soaps—local, wholesome treasures celebrating Toora’s simple country life.
Cidery Garden Sculpture Walk
We tried them all friends and had a nice time sipping the sunshine at Gurney's Cidery. But make sure you get there before 2pm if you want food! We just missed out! Great views too with a sculpture garden to wander about in.
Cider Tasting At Gurneys
Gurney’s Cidery is the perfect post-hike stop after a day at Wilson's Prom. The gardens are stunning, with panoramic views over the water that make you want to linger long past closing time (we definitely did!). The cider tasting was a highlight, especially the warm spiced mulled cider, which hit the spot on a cool autumn afternoon. Between the friendly vibe, beautiful setting, and delicious drinks, we’d go back in a heartbeat.
Fresh Flavours Artisan Finds At Tooradeli
Grab a fresh Italian-style sandwich at Toora’s modern new café, Tooradeli. Think cold deli meats, house-made bread and shelves of artisan goods to explore.
Say Hey To The Locals
When I think of Gippsland, it's rolling green hills that come to mind; the kind that look so lush and inviting to just roll down! We stopped by the roadside to take in the fresh air and let the little ones admire the friendly locals, dairy cattle, sheep and alpacas aplenty!
