Fishing The Dargo River
An amazing place to go fishing or kayaking with mountains and wilderness surrounding you from all angles. Fly fish for brown trout, blackfish, Australian grayling, mountain galaxias, congoli, common galaxias and eels.
River Swimming
The pristine Dargo River flows through the property. Its crystal clear waters is the perfect place for a dip in the warmer months, or grab a cold drink and plonk a deck char in the river.
Snow Experience
About 1 hour heading up the Dargo high planes rd you will come to a beautiful ghost gum bushland where in the cold seasons, its snows! 🤩
Mitchell River National Park
Mitchell River National Park has impressive river scenery, serene rainforest gullies, rugged landscapes and some of Victoria’s more unusual vegetation communities. From open forest to remote river gorges, the park is home to a vast array of indigenous flora and fauna, some at the furthermost extent of their range. The park is an exciting destination for outdoor enthusiasts and boasts unspoilt natural beauty and remoteness.
Blilly Goats Bend
We drove up the Billy goats bend road to the campsite to find an epic lookout, overlooking the Mitchel river and the gorge. There is a walking track that follows the river for around 25kms.
Mitchell River Walking Track
From river to gorge top, the semi-remote Mitchell River Walking Track follows the west bank of the river downstream from Angusvale through the Den of Nargun gorge, which is lined with remnants of temperate rainforest. There are spectacular views from the river to the top of the gorge. (One hour drive from camp site)
