We absolutely loved our stay at Cabin Fever! The space was cosy, peaceful and surrounded by gorgeous ocean and mountain views. The deck and spa bath were definite highlights, especially at sunset. It ...was such a beautiful base for exploring the coast and we really loved coming home to our little place to slow down, soak up the NZ spring air and switch off. We’d happily stay again!

A short walk along a track near Matapouri will take you to Whale Bay. A beautiful beach with golden sand and crystal clear blue water.

We took the ever so beautiful walk to whale bay and had the entire beach to ourselves! Incredible views. Awesome walk. A lot of stairs and toilet block at Whale Bay. Totally worth the journey!
Lighthouse Walk Along Tutukaka Head Tracks
You need to line up the tide times to get across to the other side of the Lighthouse unless you are feeling super lucky like us! Awesome views along the way as well as the arrival at the lighthouse!
Relaxing At Whananaki Beach
A short drive from Marua Retreat and you'll find Whananaki Beach. A popular spot for surfing, sunbathing and for us, we enjoyed reading books and a swim in the sea.
