Dunmore Farm | Heritage Cottage + Wood-Fired Hot Tub

A private 1860s farm cottage on 150 acres of working farmland in North East Victoria, with a wood-fired hot tub, a clawfoot bath and the entire Cottage to yourself. A slow country escape for two, or a gathering of up to six.
The Cottage
The Cottage was built in the 1860s from red gum milled on the property, and its bones remain: original weatherboards, a deep verandah and a corrugated iron roof carrying the patina of more than 150 years. It has been restored with care for the way it was built. Three bedrooms sleep six, with two queen rooms dressed in French flax linen and a bunk room with king-single bunks.
Your stay
Afternoons here have a way of lengthening. Light the wood fire, cook something slow in the well-equipped kitchen and run a deep bath with natural salts and farm botanicals. As evening falls, heat the Ember hot tub and watch the light drain from the paddocks. Later, pull a book from the small library and let the night stretch out.
Life on the farm
This is a working farm, and it moves to its own rhythm. Collect eggs from the hens, gather from the kitchen garden and orchard in season, spend time with the animals or walk the designated areas of the property. Expect birdsong at dawn, cattle grazing in the paddocks and the occasional sound of farm work. No two stays are quite the same, because no two seasons are.
Beyond the gate
Two and a half hours from Melbourne, Dunmore makes an easy base for the cellar doors of the King Valley, Milawa’s producers, Glenrowan, Beechworth and the High Country. Or stay put and do very little.
Rates are for exclusive use of the Cottage and are priced by number of guests. Linen, cleaning, firewood and the hot tub are included.

Additional Information
Life on a working farm
Dunmore is a working farm, and the daily rhythms of country life are part of the setting: weather, livestock, dust, pollen, insects and uneven ground. The Cottage is carefully cleaned and prepared before every stay, but it may not suit guests with severe allergies or sensitivity to dust, pollen, animals or insects.
Your booking
The entire Cottage is yours for the length of your stay, whatever the size of your group. It sleeps up to six across two queen bedrooms and a bunk room with king-single bunks. Your booking includes the private garden and outdoor spaces, linen, cleaning, firewood and exclusive use of the wood-fired Ember hot tub.
Connectivity
Mobile reception varies across the property, particularly on Optus. Starlink Wi-Fi is provided and is generally reliable, although rural service can occasionally be affected by weather.
Families
Families are warmly welcome. A high chair, portacot, children’s books and toys can be arranged on request, so please let us know what you need before you arrive. Children must be supervised at all times around the hot tub, the farm animals and the open farmland.
Pets
The Cottage is not pet-friendly.
Privacy and permissions
We live and work on the property, so we’re close by if you need anything, while always respecting the privacy of your stay. Events, additional visitors, and any photography or commercial activity must be approved in writing before arrival.

The Cottage at Dunmore is, without question, the preeminent farmstay experience I have encountered across both Riparide and Airbnb. Bec and Angus have curated an unparalleled retreat that harmonises r...ustic charm with thoughtful, modern luxury.
The cottage itself is as functional as it is beautiful, characterised by a series of generous and sophisticated touches: an offering of fresh farm produce, a well-stocked selection of coffee and milk, and a curated bar featuring gin, tonic, and beer. Every logistical detail has been considered, including an abundant supply of timber for both the indoor fireplace and the outdoor fire pit and wood-fired hot tub.
Beyond the accommodations, the property is a sensory delight. The sweeping vistas provide a breathtaking backdrop to the delightful antics of the resident goats, chickens, cattle, and the ever-charming BobBob. With its exquisite ambience and serene atmosphere, this destination comes with my highest recommendation—we already look forward to our return.

Ok, this place nailed the winter holiday brief…country air, cozy and clean cottage (nicely decorated), farm animals, fireplace, fire pit and bonus points for the Ember Hot Tub. Kudos to the super kind... and welcoming hosts and some of their fresh produce and coffee. Also checked out the Brookfield Maze with the kids and the old Tatong Tavern for dinner close by. Only a convenient 15mins from Benalla for any supplies. Highly recommend as a country getaway.

Definitely recommend Dunmore Farm. Bec was welcoming and generous and the farm was stunning. We enjoyed the outdoor hot tub and watching the cows surrounding the cottage. The house was lovely and stocked well. Beds were very comfortable. Will visit again
