We arrived on a Saturday and found an amazing setup. The place was clean, with all the amenities anyone could want. Wifi, Netflix, a comfy lounge, well stocked kitchen appliances that allows you to co...ok anything you want, and all within a 10 minute drive to Bilpin shops. What amazed me was the quiet location of Banjara retreat, you feel very secluded. One thing that always lets me down is the bed and pillows of these type of places, but not this time. The bed was amazingly soft, large and cozy, with super soft pillows and sheets, simply the best bed I have ever slept in away from home. The only thing the place needs is a small outdoor BBQ setting to complete what is a wonderful place to get away from it all. If the owners are reading this, get a small Weber BBQ for the deck, it would make outdoor eating even better.
We visited the Botanic Gardens, Bilpin restaurants, and a few of then scenic walks. All in a peaceful and low crowd environment. To sum it up, Banjara retreat is perfect for those who wish to get away from it all, but still have all the amenities that a hotel offers, including full power, plumbing, large fridge, great TV and wifi, a great deck, super cozy outdoor day bed and an amazing walk in shower. We even had horses in the next field that came up to the fence line.

Hillbilly Cider
No trip to Bilpin is complete without a stop at the rustic Hillbilly Cider shed. Here they produce a range of all-natural ciders, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
Sample a handful of their award-winning creations with a tasting paddle, grab a wood-fire pizza and relax looking out over the orchard that grew the delicious apples you're sipping on.
Make sure you try the 'Sweet Julie' - the only cider on the planet made from the Julie apple, a variety discovered on the property!

Explore Bilpin
Bilpin is undoubtedly the apple capital of the Blue Mountains. Known for its numerous fruit orchards and beautiful gardens, it's also home to quaint shops and roadside stalls selling homemade produce and handmade treasures. If fresh, local produce is your jam (..get it?) make sure you're hungry when visiting this little town!
Bebeah Gardens
Bebeah gardens were built in 1880 and are one of the many garden estates you'll find throughout Mount Wilson. For almost 20 years its current owner has lovingly maintained this extraordinary 12-acre property and for a small fee welcomes visitors year-round.

Cliff Top Trail
This energetic cliff top walk takes you from Govetts Leap to Evans lookout. You will be rewarded with some of the most beautiful and scenic views in all of the Blue Mountains. Be sure to keep watch for native birdlife, wildflowers, and many of lookouts along the way. As the sun shines from the east, this is the ideal walk to warm up on a cold winters morning.
Appreciate the beauty of the windswept heathland and the stunning she-oaks, banksias and mallee scrub. Make sure you pack your lunch, as Evan’s Lookout is the perfect spot to enjoy a picnic before the return walk.

Wentworth Falls
The track to the falls is short but steep. Leave from the Wentworth Falls picnic area and follow the track past two lookouts before descending 200 steps to the cliff edge at Fletchers lookout. Spend some time marvelling at the water cascading 100m to the valley floor before tackling the steps back.
