Lotte’s is a beloved 150 year old, garden-surrounded weatherboard cottage anchored in its past.
As a home she is resourceful and imaginative, with a generous pantry, well-equipped kitchen, nooks for reading and a harvestable potager garden.
At heart, Lotte’s is a celebration of simple, domestic pleasures; flowers freshly picked from the garden; a library of books; cut wood burning slowly in a fireplace; morning coffee taken on the verandah; a loaf of bread, oven-warm, cooling on the counter.
You enter Lotte’s through an ever-evolving garden, where we sow seasonal herbs and vegetables which you are welcome to harvest. Once inside, take comfort in soft woollen blankets, warm beds with high quality linens, logs stacked beside the slow combustion fireplace, stacks of books, Apple TV and unlimited high speed internet.
The kitchen here is truly the heart of the home with a stocked pantry, a SMEG oven (such a pleasure to cook with) and a large window that opens out onto the lush, undercover courtyard garden. The concrete benchtops and outdoor breakfast bar were made by our friend Robert down the road. And our cookware is as beautiful as it is functional, with everything needed to prepare and enjoy a good meal in.
The house has three cosy bedrooms with beautiful arrangements of linens from IN BED and Society of Wanderers, so no need to bring your own. Each room has a double bed, meaning the house sleeps six, however our couch is comfortable and is as wide as a king single. Extra blankets and pillows are aplenty too.
Our spacious bathroom has a rainfall shower, washing machine and dryer, with an antique bathtub sourced from Belgium that is perfect for deep soaking. Beside it is a large window that pops open over the rambling front garden.
From the tea leaves to the kettle to the teaspoon, heart and mind have been given to all of the small details at Lotte’s.
Lotte’s is for you and yours.

COTTAGE DETAILS
Lotte’s is a 150-year-old three-bedroom weatherboard cottage. Each room has a double bed, meaning she can sleep 6. However, our couch is pretty great and is actually as wide as a king single. So, you could squeeze in another person and they’ll be sleeping like a couch king.
The heart of every home is a kitchen, and our kitchen is pretty special. Bench tops made by our dear friend Robert from just down the road, a fully stocked pantry, a nice oven and some cool knick knacks and you have a home with a heart.
The bathroom has a bath & shower, and the laundry has a washing machine. All the basics and all you will need. The house has a veranda out the back with some chairs, and an undercover courtyard out the front with a table and some chairs, if you feel like eating out (but staying in). We provide all linen during your stay, so pack light!
Located in the art hub of the Sapphire Coast, the house is both close enough to town and access to shops (including both artisan and practical) however also far enough and quiet enough (cul de sac street) to make you forget you're in town. We encourage people to slow down during their stay and we have plenty of comforts to help you do so -- lots and lots of beautiful books (coffee table books, cook books, reading books), a full larder to cook with, unlimited fast speed wifi and a television for modern comforts (with Apple TV).

Home Cooked Meal By Slow Acre
We had the amazing chef Brodie from Slow Acre (www.slowacre.com) come and cook us one of her home-style recipes in Lottes Hjem's kitchen. She made a delicious chicken pie and freshly made salad all sourced from her own orchard. She finished it off by serving a scrumptious rhubarb and yogurt cake. Being cooked for at the property whilst we could just relax and enjoy our environment was definitely the highlight of our stay. We couldn't recommend Brodie enough, she was so warm and friendly and had heaps of local tips. It made the experience extra special....
