Set on the banks of the pristine Goulburn River, surrounded by state forest, the cabin is ideal for a romantic escape or an adventure filled stay. Just 10 minutes drive from Lake Eildon and 50 minutes to the gates of Mt Buller and Mt Stirling, you can choose to do a multitude of activities in the area or just relax by the river in summer, or by the cosy fire in winter.
The spacious open-plan kitchen dining and living room has cathedral ceilings, a cosy wood-fired heater and fireplace made from locally sourced slate, a huge comfy couch and large dining table. Relics from the gold-mining days adorn the walls.
Floor to ceiling windows offer a lovely view across the lawn to the river and a glass door opens onto an deck complete with comfy couch with country charm. A perfect spot to enjoy a morning cuppa or an afternoon drink and just enjoy the view whilst listening to birdsong and the soothing sounds of the river.
Bedroom 3 is a comfy 'wooden tent' which sleeps two, set down near the river which has a wall of glass at one end with river views. It has a solar panel which powers a light and a USB port for charging your phone. It is very romantic… (BYO linen)
Note there is no TV and no mobile reception unless you are with Telstra but there is wifi. Firewood is not supplied for the inside fire from November to March inclusive, unless it is unseasonably cold.

Our family has just spent two wonderful nights at The Cabin at Kevington on the Goulburn River, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better getaway.
From the moment we booked, Samantha was an exc...eptional host. Her communication was outstanding, she was incredibly welcoming, and she made everything so easy from start to finish. Thank you, Samantha, for your genuine hospitality and for sharing such a special place with us.
The cabin is absolutely beautiful, with a peaceful setting right on the Goulburn River that makes it easy to switch off from the busy pace of everyday life. It gave our family the perfect opportunity to reconnect, relax, and simply enjoy spending quality time together. Those moments are priceless, and this place provided the perfect backdrop to create lasting memories.
If you’re looking for a peaceful escape surrounded by nature, we couldn’t recommend The Cabin at Kevington highly enough. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already talking about when we’ll be back. Thank you again, Samantha, for an unforgettable stay!

The Cabin was magic. Everything about it was perfect. It was cozy and warm, and the fire lit before our arrival was extra special. Sam definitely has an eye for detail and has thought of everything fo...r the comfiest stay. We will be back for a longer stay, maybe in summer, so we can have dips in that beautiful river. Wish we were still there :)

The Goulburn River
The pristine Upper Goulburn River flows past the door of the cabin, literally. Be soothed by the sound of the water bubbling over the pebbly bottom. Forever changing with the seasons but always mesmerising to just sit and watch it flow by.
River Swimming
Make the most of the pristine Goulburn river flowing past the back door. There are several deep swimming holes on the property and lilo's and tubes are provided. Get dropped off upstream and float back down to the cabin. It's such a relaxing way to explore the river.
Yoga By The River
Grab a mat and strike a pose on the lawn. With the soothing sound of the river bubbling over the pebbles and a chorus of birds as your sound track, you'll get your zen on quicker than you can say 'Namaste'.

Here are some details about the adventures nearby. Refer to the map for their location.

Old Gold Mines
Hike up to the old gold mines to see some of the area’s history. The track starts right across the road from the cabin and is quite a steep track but well worth it.
Kevington Hotel
Don't judge this place by its roadside view alone; take a moment to immerse yourself in its vintage charm. Kevington Hotel, a delightful surprise on our journey back home, instantly made us feel at home. With a menu offering both a classic hotel menu and mouthwatering Thai cuisine, we relished every bite. The picturesque setting by the river and the nearby blossoming fields only added to the experience. Kevington Hotel is a 100% recommendation for our group getaway. 🍲
A Walk To Old Town Kevington
A 25 min walk with a slight incline up to the old town. You are met with the remains of the old mining town, with nature taking over with lush green ferns and beautiful birds and butterflies.
Kayak Journeys
Hire a kayak from the Jamieson caravan park and make your way down the river. You can stop off for lunch at the brewery or spend all arvo making your way down to Lake Eildon where you can be picked up by the friendly folk at the park.
Jamieson General Store
Jamieson is known for its amazing brewery, yes it is! But, we discovered one of the coolest general stores in Australia. The vintage vibes, amazing coffee and cute king parrots made our afternoon worth it. This place is a must-visit in the Eildon Lake region, 100% recommended!!!
Explore Tunnel Bend
Explore Kevington's Tunnel Bend Track just across the road from the property. The historic river diversion tunnel makes for an easy caving adventure nearby.
