Sidneys Retreat is exactly as it looks - a picturesque escape amongst the trees. One street back from the main street in Katoomba access to great coffee and local shops was very convenient. The house ...is beautifully styled with many thoughtful winter touches which allows you to enjoy the cool but also keep toasty warm. The sunrise from the lounge room was so beautiful every morning.
The host’s communication was prompt and detailed.
Will definitely recommend to everyone.

Brekky At The Gingerbread House

A 2-minute walk from the front gate of Sidneys, The gingerbread House Katoomba offers up a mean feed, with some of the tastiest jaffles you've ever had, with a super kid-friendly outdoor area and a cheeky lolly store inside!

A hidden gem that you do not want to miss. A 30-minute walk from the car park, you're greeted with an secluded and gorgeous waterfall. If weather permits, a swim is a must.

National Pass Walking Track

This walk through dry eucalypt forest has wonderful views of the Jamison Valley and neighbouring cliffs, plus you are rewarded with spectacular waterfalls at both ends of the walk. Highpoints are the paths, which are cut halfway up the cliff-face that lead you to a crossing of the incredible Wentworth Falls, right next to the appropriately named Giant Staircase. Be prepared with water and appropriate footwear as there are some difficult sections that require reasonable fitness.

Fishing

While away an afternoon fishing at the peaceful Wentworth Falls Lake. Bait fishing is popular but lures and fly will also take fish. Expect to catch anything from brown trout to rainbow trout and even redfin perch. Head to the western end of the dam where fly-fishing is best.

Wentworth Falls

The track to the falls is short but steep. Leave from the Wentworth Falls picnic area and follow the track past two lookouts before descending 200 steps to the cliff edge at Fletchers lookout. Spend some time marvelling at the water cascading 100m to the valley floor before tackling the steps back.
