Each bedroom is filled with natural light and the indoor and outdoor living spaces are perfect to unwind and enjoy a getaway. In the cooler months you can enjoy an evening sitting by the fire. Alkira is located in a tranquil area of Cowes with many old beach houses, wildlife and close to all of the great things Phillip Island has to offer such as beautiful walks along windswept coast lines, surfing and enjoying a delicious lunch at The Phillip Island Winery.

Dogs are very welcome just not on beds and sofas.
We have security cameras on the property they are turned off when guests arrive. They are used to ensure our house is safe when no one is there and if our neighbors complain about additional noise or guests.

Was a great stay at Alkira, perfect of our family of 4. Situated in the heart of town, and with all activities close by. Georgie was very informative and welcoming, plus the house had very relaxed fee...l, which we loved, making it feel like home. Highly recommend for families or anyone looking to come down to Phillip Island.

Alkira Beach Shack was such a lovely stay for our first family visit to the Island.
The house is cozy, clean, and had everything we needed to feel comfortable.
Having the fire on in the evenings was ...a great way to unwind, as well as sitting on the back deck with plenty of room outdoors for the kids & dogs to play.
We would gladly recommend a stay here. It was also a perfect spot between a few minutes drive to the main strip and a short 1km walk to the beach.

Georgie as a host was welcoming, prompt and easy to communicate with.

We loved our stay at Alkira Beach Shack! The home was spacious and had everything we needed. The outdoor space was wonderful and included a trampoline and a basketball hoop which was a bonus! The loca...tion was peaceful and close to Red Rocks beach which we enjoyed visiting for a swim in the beautiful calm water.

Red Rocks Beach

Picturesque Red Rocks Beach is just a 14 minute stroll from the house. It's a great beach for adults and kids who prefer a protected beach without waves. Swimming conditions here are much safer than the open beaches however there is a patrolled area that is recommended for safety. Great for sunsets too.

Phillip Island Winery

Great wine and activities in an open terrace. The food went down perfectly with the famous fizzy shiraz too!

Redlining On The Race Track

This was the highlight of the trip, well worth it if you're visiting the island. We redlined those things around the track and it was thrilling!

Surf At Smiths Beach

Smith's Beach is a more family friendly and is perfect for intermediate surf levels and or if the swell is too big. Ideal conditions are 3-5ft on the open beaches with a N/NE wind (offshore). Stop past the guys at Island surfboards if you are keen to learn to surf. They offer lessons all year around.

The Pinnacle Lookout

We soaked up the rugged and pristine nature of Phillip Island on a short walk to the Pinnacle lookout.

Churchill Island Coastal Walk

Just 15 minutes drive from Alkira is Churchill Island where there are a number of lovely walks. The Churchill Island Loop walk is an easy stroll around the island, and you can also enjoy the shorter walks - the North Point Loop, and the Wadjil’garook Wetland, where you can learn about Indigenous culture and wetland birds.
