Parkvale Cabins are individual, privately located, self contained holiday cabins situated in an expansive bush setting. They are ideal for family getaways and equally great for a quiet getaway.
Most guests use our cabins as a base to explore the many attractions that East Gippsland and the Gippsland Lakes region have to offer, and some choose to just sit and enjoy the tranquility of the bush with a cup of tea or nice wine and a book. We are pet friendly and welcome guests from all backgrounds.

Additional Information

LOG CABIN DETAILS
Our house is also on the property but, YOUR PRIVACY IS ASSURED. The cabins are nestled in the bush off to the side of our long driveway and separated from each other. We are never too far away if you require anything but will not unnecessarily bother you otherwise.
Firewood for the combustion heaters is provided in the cooler months only.
e.g. primarily when the night time temperatures are consistently in single figures.
The cabins all have reverse cycle air conditioning/heaters that are more than capable of heating or cooling an entire cabin.
For the outside fire pits, fallen branches can be scavenged in all directions in the surrounding bush. We sometimes have branches etc next to fire pits for burning. Please note that guests are not permitted to cut down ANY trees or other vegetation and guests are not permitted to use chainsaws on the property.

Pets are welcome, however they must be under control at all times and pets are never to be left at the property unattended.

Mobile phone reception is sometimes a little patchy. We do offer free WiFi, however, as it is reliant on satellite, it isn't guaranteed.

The water supply is via tank water. Although tank water is considered safe to drink, it is up to you if you'd prefer to bring along some bottled water instead. We have recycling facilities for empty plastic bottles.

We don't allow parties/gatherings at the cabins for the health, safety & wellbeing of all our guests.

The location is gorgeous, the birdlife is flourishing, the cabins are comfortable and rustic. These cabins are not only a 15min drive from Bairnsdale, the property owners are nearby if anything goes wrong, and are amazing hosts!

We absolutely loved our time at the bush cabin; it was a beautiful cabin in a beautiful setting. Our four year old especially was on cloud nine the whole time we were there - he loved playing in the ...bush all day and toasting marshmallows at the outdoor fire pit at night. The cabin was really cosy and the indoor fireplace topped things out. There was a huge amount of good wood provided by our hosts for both the indoor and outdoor fire which was also very much appreciated. We only spent two nights at the cabin but could very happily have stayed for longer!

Returning for a second time only made us love this cabin more. The surroundings are incredibly quiet, peaceful, and secluded, offering the perfect escape to switch off from the world. It’s beautifully simple, yet thoughtfully equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Thanks Nigel!!

Parkvale Cabins is a small business operated by my partner & I. We have young adult children and love the bush. We totally respect the privacy of all our guests and will not unnecessarily bother you.(We know from experience how annoying that is!!)

Watching Koalas On Raymond Island

Just a short ferry ride from Paynesville there is Raymond island - home to about 300 free living koalas. The island is pretty small and it’s easy to walk around, making koala spotting in their natural habitat a breeze.

Nyerimilang Heritage Park

Nyerimilang Heritage Park is on the shores of the Gippsland Lakes, 10 km by road north-west of Lakes Entrance. The park is perfect for picnics and has beautiful gardens and pastoral surroundings and walks along bush and farm tracks. The park also offers magnificent views across Reeve Channel and the lakes beyond.
Surfing

Surfing

Red Bluff is a very popular location with local surfers. It is a small rocky headland that seems to heighten the surf and can provide a good opportunity to catch a wave. Be aware however that the area is unpatrolled and carries a degree of risk even for experienced surfers.

Buchan Caves

Discover a honeycomb of spectacular limestone formations carved by an underground river almost 400 million years ago at Buchan Caves. Tour the largest cave system in Victoria & enjoy a picnic in the scenic heritage-listed landscape.

Exploring Wilsons Cave

Wilson’s cave is one of the Buchan caves, a perfect place for everyone who craves a little adventure. It’s a ‘wild’ cave, with no light installations inside, so make sure you bring the light yourself!
