Pet-friendly
Welcome to The Ridge House, your fully renovated and beautifully styled country home, located in the serene rolling green hills of Yarragon. Our property offers the perfect getaway from city life and is only a 90-minute drive from Melbourne.
You'll have access to 50 acres of private bushland and two walking trails, including the historic logging tramways track from the 1880s. Take the time to explore, eat, read, nap, and sip vino by one of our two indoor fireplaces or outdoor fire pit while enjoying sweeping views towards Mt Baw Baw.
Whether you're travelling solo, as a couple, or in a group of up to 8 people, we have the perfect space for you. Plus, we provide local and homemade breakfast provisions to make your stay even more comfortable.
PETS
We have just opened our property to welcome your furry friends but have some limitations. See 'Additional notes on pet stays" below and feel free to contact us before your book with any questions
CLEANING
We take pride in our enhanced cleaning protocols, and you can rest easy knowing that we're committed to ensuring your stay is as safe and enjoyable as possible.
BEDROOMS
Please note that if you'd like to convert two single beds into a queen bed. ($50). For your privacy, any bedrooms not booked during your stay will be locked, and additional beds used during your stay are subject to additional guest fees.
RUBBISH
At The Ridge House, we're committed to running a sustainable rural property. As such, we don't have a roadside waste collection, and we kindly ask our guests to take home their landfill and recycling rubbish.
We understand that this may not always be possible when travelling, so we're happy to take care of your rubbish for you, and a fee of $50 will apply. This fee covers our expenses to transport the rubbish to our local landfill centre. You may leave compost as we use this at Green Hills Farm.
We kindly ask our guests to be mindful of the amount of packing they bring with them during their stay at The Ridge House. We encourage you to consider ways to reduce unnecessary packaging, such as bringing reusable containers for food and drinks or choosing products with minimal packaging.
By taking these simple steps, we can all work together to minimize our impact on the environment and maintain our commitment to sustainability.
EVENTS
We love hosting micro weddings, bridal stays, anniversary celebrations, and other events at The Ridge House. However, please note that these events incur a different pricing structure. Contact Kristy at [email protected] to discuss this before making your booking.

ADDITIONAL INFO ON PET STAYS
We understand that your furry friends are a part of your family, and we're excited to announce that we've just opened up our property to allow pets. However, as we're situated in bushland that's unfenced and full of native wildlife, and our house is filled with delicate items, art objects, and soft furnishings, we can only accommodate small to medium-sized pets that are well-house-trained and have low shedding.
Please bring your own pet bedding, and remember that pets are not allowed to sleep on beds or couches. To keep our home clean and tidy, please bring old towels to dry wet or muddy feet, and be sure to collect and dispose of all dog waste. We kindly request that you don't wash your pet in the bathrooms, laundry, or kitchen sinks, but instead use the tap and hose located at the bottom of the stairs near the kitchen sliding doors.
We are open to hearing about your pet requests, so please feel free to contact us about your pet before you book if you have any questions. Thank you for understanding, and we hope you and your furry friends have a wonderful stay with us....

Additional Information
“ If you are looking for a relaxing getaway in a beautiful house and picturesque location The Ridge House will certainly exceed your expectations.” - Claire June 2020
THE RIDGE HOUSE
This 50-acre bushland property is part of our larger working Green Hills Farm. Given the time of the year, you may see our cattle, wallabies, deer, wombats and a stunning array of local birdlife. You will definitely be greeted by our resident Guinea Fowl, Ginny, look for a spare bit of your morning toast.
The house is located on a ridge top in the Yarragon Hills. Its magic lays in the ability for the views to change constantly. In the morning you may feel as though you sit above the clouds as low-lying mist covers the township of Yarragon. In the afternoon on a clear day, you can see all the way to the snow-covered peaks of Mt Baw Baw. When the weather rolls in, you can have your own private show from Mother Nature.
Purchased in 2017, we have spent a year renovating this space to a place we would be happy to call home. It has two new bathrooms, a new kitchen, new flooring, air-conditioning, heating, and new beds and bedding.
BREAKFAST
We provide generous breakfast provisions for your first night of stay. These include locally made milk, bread, homemade jam and honey from our farm hives. Sometimes even veggies or herbs from our veggie patch if they are available. General provisions such as tea and coffee are also included.
GUEST ACCESS
The whole house will be open for your use. There is one locked room that we use for personal storage and cleaning supplies. Bedrooms not booked are also locked.
GUEST AMENITIES
Linen & towels provided
Organic body and cleaning products supplied.
Firewood Supplied
DRIVING TO THE PROPERTY
Please note that part of the drive to the property is on a section of gravel road and is set in a winding hillside with blinds spots. Caution is needed - especially at night. The driveway into the property is also winding. It is absolutely safe to drive, but again, drivers need to take it slow and with caution.
PETS
We are open to having your fur baby stay but there are restrictions because we are part of a larger working farm - please email if this request interests you....
