Black Horse Park is a historic property first settled in the 1850s by George and Arthur Desmond and located on 20 acres of gently undulating pasture in the prestigious Boorolite Valley of the Victorian High Country. Enriched with age old European Oaks, Elms, Poplars, Liquid Ambers' and Pin Oaks, the property is also close to Mansfield State Forest.

If you would like to bring your horse and ride the vast expanses of the Victorian High Country, it's on our doorstep, with endless tracks to ride you'll be amazed at the breathtaking scenery and awesome riding trails. We have excellent horse friendly paddocks and four post and rail yards with water and washing facilities and plenty of room to park the float.

You don't even have to bring your own hay as we have plenty of good quality grass hay here you can buy at a very reasonable price. Your horse can stay for $10 per night or if you are unable to bring one don't worry we can arrange local horses and guides for you.

During your stay at Black Horse Park, feel free to wander the property, fish for Red Fin, Rainbow trout and Yabbies or even have a swim in our large clean dam, sip on a glass of you're favourite wine, read a book or just have an afternoon nap.

From the moment we drove in, we felt instantly welcomed. That fresh country air, the smoke coming from the chimney, surrounded by green paddocks and mountains. Black Horse Park is one of the most peaceful and homely accomodations we have ever stayed in. Nestled beneath the rolling mountains, Black Horse Park reflects its heritage with beautiful detail in its restoration. Rob and Helen are fantastic hosts and made sure we got everything out of our country get away we wanted. Will definitely be back!...

We loved our stay in Robs Pioneers Hut. Every little detail has been thought of and is very tastefully styled. It is the perfect place to hide away for a misty winter weekend with a warm hearth and a good book. During the day we drove closer to the mountains and found some great small walks. In the evening we cooked a beef and red wine stew for hours on the hob whilst sipping whisky and strumming tunes. You won't be lonely with the gorgeous animals on site either. The two dogs and the cat are extremely friendly, and they will even show you the way to find the alpacas and hairy coo's....
