The Silo House made for a wonderful weekend away for myself and five friends for our annual book club getaway. The house is beautifully designed and decorated, incredibly spacious, and has such a drea...my feel when the sunlight hits the different rooms.
The kitchen is really well equipped if you love to cook up a storm, and there are plenty of different spaces throughout the house for everyone to spread out while still feeling connected. It rained significantly during our stay, so unfortunately we didn’t get to make much use of the garden. Instead, we happily made ourselves at home across the kitchen, dining area, lounge and loft love seats – cooking, reading, playing board games and generally relaxing. It was a lovely house to be tucked away in on a rainy weekend.
The bedrooms were spacious, beautifully designed and very clean, with lovely views and generous ensuites. Two of our group stayed in the loft, which has four single beds as well as a large couch. One small downside was the additional charge to have two of the loft beds made up. Given the overall cost of the house, this felt a little expensive.
We also had some issues with the hot water during our stay and eventually managed with luke warm showers, despite staggering our shower times. Unfortunately we couldn’t get any hot water in the fifth bathroom.
The downstairs den/drinks lounge looked like another great space, but we weren’t able to use it as there was no heating and it was far too cold down there.
Location-wise, the house is close to the coastline and only a short drive from town and some beautiful coastal walks. We loved exploring the rock pools and wandering around Inverloch, where we stumbled across a gorgeous vintage store and some great coffee.
The Silo House was a beautiful and memorable place for a group getaway. I can only imagine how gorgeous it would be in summer and it's proximity to the local beaches!

The Grand Design Silo House was unreal! We all loved it - it’s full of character and personality. We enjoyed the space and all it offered! Definitely looking forward to a return visit x
