Nestled amongst 14 acres on top of a hill overlooking The Goulburn Valley - The Stonehouse is a lovingly restored ex military cottage full of character and charm. Completely off-grid with solar battery power, gas cooking and water tanks you will feel completely relaxed as soon as you walk through the stone clad entrance.
We embrace sustainability and eco-living which is what we love about this property. The stone on the house facade is foraged right from the property and also includes a wrap around verandah for you to enjoy sunrise and sunset.
Comprising of 2 bedrooms, bathroom, lounge with wood fireplace and seperate dining there's ample space to wine and dine with all that the local region has to offer. Not to mention the full size kitchen (with original wood fire oven) and sunroom.
During winter heating is via the wood fire in lounge room and the wood stove in the kitchen plus electric blankets on both beds.
Ducted evaporative cooling for the warmer months.

HOUSE DETAILS
A 90 minute drive from Melbourne, 10 minute drive from the heart of Nagambie & 15 minutes from Tahbilk Winery there are countless activities to do in the area, especially around Lake Nagambie.
Being a rural property you will be able to enjoy the array of wildlife that frequents the property, including birds, kangaroos, wallabies.
We ask guest to be cautious of snakes and spiders as the surrounding bush is untapped nature.
There is a second residence on the property which may be occupied during your stay (either by us or other holiday makers). They are completely private and located over 100 metres from one another, with outside areas facing different directions so privacy is ensured. The driveway, and external property (eg dam, bushland etc) are shared.

We just went to chill for 2 nights with the dog and were not interested in activities and wineries etc. With that in mind, we found the house quite relaxing, just resting by the fire or reading outside. It is a beautiful house and very peaceful place. Would highly recommend staying there.

Skydiving In Nagambie
When Skydive Nagambie was first opened by Australian Champion Don Cross 17 years ago, he had only one goal in mind. To bring the excitement and thrill of the best skydive in Melbourne to as many people as he could.
Tahbilk Winery
Very unique winery, cellar door and restaurant. Taste wine at the cellar door and check out their cellars. Or head over to the restaurant for a meal and drink right on the river.
Lake Nagambie
Make the most of lake nagambie, bring your boat, jet ski or paddle board on go out on of the most beautiful lakes in the Goulburn Valley.
Tahbilk Wetlands Eco Trail
Right next to the Tahbilk Winery is the start of the Tahbilk Wetlands Eco-Trail. A lovely stroll along the old bridges and boardwalks amongst the wetlands. We stopped for a picnic amongst the grapevines.
Hire A Tinnie On The Goulburn River
Hire a tinnie and cruise around the lake or head down the Goulburn River. No license is required it's a great way to get on the water and have some fun. You could even cruise down to the wineries on the river. There are also, kayaks, canoes, SUP's and pedal boats available.
Take A Stroll Around Lake Nagambie
Massive lake in the heart of town that is hard to miss. Worth a stroll or bike ride around after grabbing a morning coffee.
