The ANARE (Australian, National, Antarctic Research, Expedition) Ski Lodge on Mt Baw Baw was formed by a bunch of expeditions who worked in Antarctica. Nowadays they like to catch up over a glass of wine around the fire, winter or summer, or have a family getaway out of the hustle and bustle of the big smoke. When not used by members the lodge is available for public bookings.
With good winter snow visitors can ski/snowboard/snowshoe to the ski runs or the plateau cross country trails from the front door of the lodge. For the kids the toboggan run is just 50 metres away.
In summer extensive walking and mountain bike cycling is available. Walking tracks link to nearby mountains and the Alpine Walking trail where you begin at Walhalla and can walk to Mt Kosciuszko. Wildflowers are a must see.

A-FRAME LODGE DETAILS
Self catering, book entire lodge, sleeps 14 with 4 sleeping areas, ideal for families or group of friends.
Internal services include two bathrooms (with shower, basin and toilet) and one separate toilet, a drying room on the lower level, double kitchen with microwave and 2 conventional gas ovens, lounge with comfortable couches, reading area, books and games, day beds.
A gas fire in the lounge and ducted heating throughout provides plenty of warmth. The sleeping level at top floor is separated into three sections by curtains. There is a child gate provided for stairs to keep children safe.
The rear balcony overlooks Champagne ski run and the front balcony has stunning views over the Latrobe Valley.

Bookings are for entire Lodge which sleeps 14. Guest are to leave the lodge clean as they found it. A cleaning charge applies.
What to Bring:
The lodge has a fully equipped double kitchen with gas cooktops, ovens and a microwave oven, toaster, jug and sandwich press, ample cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery, fridge and freezer. Non perishable pantry provisions such as dish washing detergent, toilet paper and hand sanitiser are provided. Food storage containers are also provided.
Bring the following basics or hire:
Bring your own bedding or hire from guest services – single or double sheets or sleeping sheets as a mattress cover, doonas or sleeping bags and pillows with pillow case. (Covered mattresses only are provided due to Covid 19),
Bath towel & toiletries.
Food for your stay and tea towels for drying dishes.
Sensible warm appropriate clothing.
