Idyllic, secluded, peaceful, and everything in between. There were so many local activities we forgot to rest, I guess I’ll just have to return to visit the tiny tent house – Minga, hosted by Kathryn and her incredibly hospitable family.

We are a small and close family, drawn to the picturesque Mountain View property in Tilba Tilba by its special beauty and historic charm, overlooked by Gulaga, the Mother Mountain.
Originally from Adelaide, with a career built in Melbourne and family made in Western Australia, the New South Wales south coast was the destination to be nearer immediate family. The move to Tilba Tilba has been a huge leap of faith for us but one that is part of an amazing experience and we feel very lucky to wake up here every day.
Mountain View is a truly unique and special place. Photographs can only capture so much - the essence and wonderful energy of Gulaga can only be fully experienced in person, to feel the calming and peaceful presence that envelopes us and the beautiful surrounds that feed us.
Living here with my children, Stella and Marcus, brings something surprising and beautiful every day. We have a fresh, lush space and the beauty of the mountain but are only a few minutes from the locally known Tilba beach (once described to me by a Melbournite as “the best beach ever”) and the more popular Mystery Bay.
Central Tilba is also only a few minutes away and it is only a 15-minute drive from the local towns of Narooma, Bermagui and Cobargo and the services they provide.
We hope that you will find time to visit us, relax and explore the scenic South Coast!

Here are some details about the adventures nearby. Refer to the map for their location.
Mount Gulaga Walk
Follow this steep track up the mountain; at halfway the trail leads 1.6km to the foundations of the mine manager’s residence. Back to the main track and 30 minutes of hiking will lead you to The Saddle, the perfect rest spot. Finally head to the summit with spectacular views to the coast.
Tilba Valley Winery Ale House
The Tilba Valley Winery is a short drive between Tilba and Narooma, on the Old Pacific Highway. A small yet picturesque little winery, with live music on the weekends during the holiday periods. Have a glass of their red whilst seated in their amazing outdoor area overlooking the grapes at the foot of the hills. They even have pretty cool kids play area to keep the kids entertained whilst you enjoy a beverage or two.
Sunrise At Mystery Bay
Mystery Bay, in the Eurobodalla Shire, has to be seen to be believed. A stunning beach with rocky outcrops, tunnels and natural caves to explore, the beach is a fantastic place to catch a sunrise or go for a swim.
Mystery Bay
Mystery Bay is a short 5-minute drive north, a little further along is Handkerchief Beach and you will be at the glorious water vistas of Narooma and Dalmeny in just another 5 minutes.
Wallaga Lake
To the south, Wallaga Lake is an amazing place for birdlife and fishing! At the mouth to the sea, after a short walk along the boardwalk and over Murunna Point, the beach is endless.
Exploring The Trails Of The Eurobodalla
On the drive between Tilba and Narooma lies a range of fire trails and brief rainforest walks where you can get out and see some picturesque and overlooked nature areas. Our favourite - take a turn off for the Corunna Lake Picnic Area. All around this area are short walks for you to explore.
