Goulburn River Retreat is absolutely lovely. We barely left the property for 5 days we were so content. We spent our days cooking, fishing (badly), and the kids hardly got off the zip line. The kitche...n is perfectly equipped and has an excellent large oven. Another highlight for us was the kids games and toys. Despite packing plenty of our own, it’s always different toys that seem to grab their attention so this made for an even more relaxing time for all. We roasted marshmallows on the fire outside every night, and fed the rosellas and kookaburras each morning. We absolutely can’t wait to go back.

What a special house by the river, super calming with everything you need for a lovely weekend away. The scenery and location are magnificent and the property is well maintained. Samantha was easy to ...deal with and everything was in top order. The kids absolutely loved the zipline, cubby and fishing. Will definitely return.

This is our second time staying here for a few nights. It’s a stunning property, well appointed and of course right on the river (which was flowing a little slower this time). Lots of Kookaburra came ...to visit. We had an amazing long lunch at Delatite Winery (book ahead). We highly recommend the property and Sam is a fantastic host.

Jamieson General Store

Jamieson is known for its amazing brewery, yes it is! But, we discovered one of the coolest general stores in Australia. The vintage vibes, amazing coffee and cute king parrots made our afternoon worth it. This place is a must-visit in the Eildon Lake region, 100% recommended!!!

Explore The Mining History Of The Local Area

'No Sweat Diggings' are just across the road from the house. They are old diggings from the gold rush days. There is a well worn track through a deep trench where you can see the remains of some old mines.

Local Bushwalking

There are endless walks around the rivers, hills and valleys of Jamieson to suit all standards including The Heritage Walk, The Significant Trees Walk and The Island Walk. As a gateway to the Alpine National Park, there are also spectacular Alpine walks nearby. Maps are available at the General Store.
