HOUSE DETAILS
The Waterhouse is an elegant, architecturally designed retreat, curated with many of my own cherished belongings and styled as a true home rather than a conventional holiday rental. It offers a warm, refined atmosphere ideal for couples or small groups seeking a peaceful and restorative escape. The open-plan, split-level design features a fully equipped kitchen and inviting indoor–outdoor spaces, perfect for candlelit dinners and relaxed evenings by the BBQ.
Please note, The Waterhouse is not suitable for parties, and we ask that guests respect the quiet nature of the neighbourhood.
Sleeping arrangements:
The upstairs bedroom features a king bed and overlooks the living space and tranquil pond below, creating a sense of openness and connection. The downstairs master bedroom offers enhanced privacy, with a king bed and garden outlook, making it an ideal retreat. For an additional cost a separate self contained studio is on the property that offers stylish bathroom, kitchen and queen bed sleeping for two. Feel free to enquire about rates for this.
Underfloor heating throughout most of the home ensures a luxurious sense of warmth year-round. For evenings spent indoors, the deep soaking bath invites long, indulgent moments of relaxation — a glass of wine and a good book close at hand.
I am easily contactable throughout your stay, should you need anything, but my intention is always to leave you to enjoy the house in complete privacy.
Location:
Wentworth Falls is, in my view, one of the most beautiful and atmospheric villages in the Upper Blue Mountains. On your way through, enjoy a great coffee at Butter Café, then gather supplies from the local grocer, wine shop, baker and butcher.
A gentle morning walk around the lake is a lovely way to begin the day before exploring nearby galleries, boutique stores and charming retro shops.
Wentworth Falls train station is located in the village, approximately a 10-minute walk away, with taxis available (best to book one on the way up). While the village is easily accessible by train, having a car allows you to explore the wider Mountains at your own pace — from secluded walking tracks to dramatic lookouts and neighbouring villages.

The Waterhouse is where I stay when I don’t have guests. I love the house and it’s full of interesting things I’ve collected over the years, so make yourself comfortable but please be mindful and careful.
I have a keen interest in mid century styling, landscaping and ceramics, and I create both art pieces and practical ware in my studio space.
While overseas travel is always exciting, I appreciate you choosing to support local businesses and hope you find my home enjoyable and relaxing.
Cheers,
Dan

Secret Garden
Stepping outside the warm atmosphere of the house into the garden immediately transports you into the tranquility of nature. Peering through the lily pads in the pond reveal brightly coloured Koi fish darting back and forth. You'll quickly notice the native birds curiously getting closer to the surrounding trees looking for the birdseed that the owner has generously supplied. Taking the time to feed the birds and fish while immersing yourself in the surrounding greenery is the perfect antidote to a busy life.

Go For A Stroll And A Picnic At Wentworth Falls Lake
Wentworth Falls lake is perfect for an easy and relaxing stroll. There is a short track that goes along the lake as well as plenty of grassed areas for a picnic. Or why not bring a hot coffee or tea to enjoy on a cold day like we did?
Breakfast At Fed Cafe
Recommended by our host Selena, this charming little cafe did not disappoint. Right in the middle of picturesque Wentworth Falls, Fed has great coffee, cakes, pastries, salads, pies and a yummy selection of sandwiches, which we had before our hike. We liked it so much that we went back a second time for breakfast and it was just as good. The service is quick and the staff are friendly. We loved the homemade salsa and the original items on the varied menu such as the salmon cake. A must!
Empress Falls
Empress Falls is a natural beauty you need to check out for yourself. A good few hours trek from the car park and you’ll find this hidden gem. If you love to explore, following the river bed will lead you to the mouth of a waterfall with a spectacular view of the Blue Mountains. This one’s the perfect adventure to do with a group of friends.
Wentworth Falls
The famous three-tiered falls that lend the town its name launch a plume of spray over a 300m drop. This is the starting point of several walking tracks which delve into the sublime Valley of the Waters. The most popular being the short but steep walk via National Pass Walking trail to Fletchers Lookout where you can marvel at the falls cascading into the valley. For those energetic souls, combine Wentworth Falls track with the short Weeping Rock Circuit, the varied Under-cliff Track, or historic Princes Rock Lookout Track.

The Grand Cliff Top Walk
The Grand Cliff Top Walk in the Blue Mountains is an incredible 19 km, 2-day walk that takes visitors on a spectacular journey along the escarpment in World Heritage–listed Blue Mountains National Park and through other scenic Blue Mountains City Council locations, linking Wentworth Falls, Leura and Katoomba.
