Perched over the banks of the Goulburn River our newly renovated home is the perfect place to unwind and watch the world go by.

Have a sauna next to the river and cool down in the mountain fresh waters. Light a fire and enjoy the hot tub as the sun sets, take a nap to sound of the river or enjoy a book by the river.

At night time sit back under a blanket of bright stars in the dark night sky and listen to the fire crackling as you catch up with loved ones over a glass of wine.

December to April river adventures- Kayaks are provided (deposit required) or ring your own blow-up tubes or hire kayaks locally in Jamieson for lots of river fun!

No pets allowed.

Starlink internet complimentary as we all know we will reach for our phones even when we say we want to disconnect!

HOUSE DETAILS- Please read before you book.

The main house has TWO bedrooms and accommodates a six person booking. The master suite has built-in robes and a modern ensuite.

The second bedroom has a comfy double size bed and a bunk bed making this the perfect room for a family of four.

EXTERNAL from the house

ROOM 3 consists of the wooden A-frame riverside hut with a glass window to view the river and stars from bed. A booking for a group of 6 or people provides you access to the A-frame hut. This room is unpowered with no heating or cooling. Extra warm doona provided to keep you toasty. This room has a queen size bed and enough room at the end to place two duffle bags and your boots. The width of the cabin is queen size bed with and you cannot stand up in here. Think Swedish timber lined glamping. If it rains you are comfy and dry. Zen out in nature in pure comfort.

ROOM 4 The office bungalow bedroom. Perched looking over the river with bifold doors this 3.4 x 4m room has a private deck, faux fire heater and mini bar fridge with a comfy queen size bed. There is no aircon in this room but the side sliding door with fly screen allows for River breeze and the sound of birds and river while you sleep. Get in touch with nature.

All rooms come with fluffy down pillows and 1500 thread count linen to keep you warm and fuzzy.

The main house has a wood fire in a fabulous open plan living/ dining room adorned with large windows that look directly down to the river.

Sit on the deck and feed the king parrots or put your feet up with a cuppa and listen to the sounds of the river from the house.

Book for eight people and unlock the A-frame hut... the 3rd bedroom. (unheated / no power point). Heavy, super warm and snug bedding to keep you toasty.

Located just outside the house with a direct view from bed of the river is a cosy designer A-frame cabin. The space has a very comfy new mattress on the floor and at the end of this small room has a space for two duffel bags.

Fully sealed from the weather with custom lockable door and a glass window this space is perfect for getting back to nature in style.

Who needs camping when you can have all the comfort and full access to the luxury bathrooms inside the main house. Sleeps two adults or several kids. Join your fellow guests inside at the kitchen island bench for a vino and a homemade pizza and retreat back into your zen zone away from the chaos in this blissful little abode. Great for moody teenagers who need their own space and adults alike.

Firewood is provided for the indoor fire to keep you nice and cosy.

NOTE: BYO wood and kindling for outdoor fire pit.

Note: The river flow differs from time to time. Late December to March the river is low and suitable for swimming. Many other times of the year the river flow is fast and there are some times rapids in the river. The height and speed of the river is determined by how much rainfall we have had and we are unable to give you an indication as to what the river will be like at the time of your booking.

Kayak The Goulburn River

The glorious Goulburn river passes right by the house. Kayaks are provided at the house. Paddle your way into the town of Jamieson.

Fly Fishing

Trout and other fish live in these gorgeous waters! The river level ranges from low to high at different times of the year. From May to Nov the river is running high and very fast and not suitable for fishing.

Swim In The River

Enjoy the clear fresh water of the Goulburn River with a daily swim directly in front of the house. Swimming is usually safe from late December to March. Some times we get big rains and the river is flowing too fast for swimming.

2x adult kayaks and paddles are available from December to the end of March. A $400 deposit needs to be paid for kayak hire. Your deposit will be returned within 10 days of your stay to ensure management can check all items are returned in good order. We cannot guarantee what the river will be doing at the time of your stay. It may be perfect or it may be too high.

Bushwalking Gold Mining History

Follow the 'historic marker' sign as you first arrive in Kevington. It leads to the site of the old Kevington township & further up the track you'll see the old gold mines and mining equipment. There are walking maps at the cottage.

Explore The High Country

Choose one of the many adjacent State forest parks to explore with your 4WD. Sheepyards and Frys hut or Mt Terrible are both excellent 4WD tracks.

A 25 min walk with a slight incline up to the old town. You are met with the remains of the old mining town, with nature taking over with lush green ferns and beautiful birds and butterflies.

Kayak Journeys

Hire a kayak from the Jamieson caravan park and make your way down the river. You can stop off for lunch at the brewery or spend all arvo making your way down to Lake Eildon where you can be picked up by the friendly folk at the park.

Kayak on the Jamieson River, about 10kms down the road. See Tom at the Jamieson Caravan Park who will rent you some kayaks. He sent us down stream to take in a different perspective, and picked us up to take us back to our car.
