Lothlorien is a family-owned and operated bespoke romantic luxury retreat in the heart of the Victorian High Country in Tawonga South. The fully renovated three-level barn maintains a beautiful rustic exterior and a comfortable modern interior. A full breakfast included. Lothlorien offers the perfect escape. Relax in the hot tub after a day of activities in the area. Walking and hiking trails, bike riding, kayaking, skiing and snowboarding at nearby Falls Creek, just to name a few.

My aim was to create a comfortable, stylish space and provide each guest with a truly unique experience rather than just somewhere to stay. This has awarded me with consistent 5-star reviews.

TV in lounge and both bedrooms, undercover parking at your door, fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, electric oven and stovetop. Tea and coffee making facilities.

All breakfast provisions supplied eggs, bacon, bread, butter and fresh fruit. Quality linen, pure wool blankets, bath sheets and towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, shower caps, fluffy bath robes.

Feel free to wander through the garden, pick fruit from the orchard, enjoy a game of chess on the giant chess board or just relax and read a book or relax in the hot tub with a glass of local wine.

As I live on the property I am always available to answer any queries you may have regarding the Barn or the local area.

Just a short drive to Mount Beauty (3.7 km), Falls Creek (30 km) and Bright (27 km) Visit local wineries, take a leisurely stroll around the Pondage in Mount Beauty. Gliding, mountain biking, bushwalking, fishing, skiing, snowboarding and kayaking just to mention a few.

Wifi, Netflix and Stan available at no charge.

Outside lighting will remain on until 10 PM each evening.

We want to thank Tim for a wonderful stay at the Lothlorien. The accommodation was immaculate and provided a very homely feel that really felt like it catered to all. The surrounding woodland was wel...l kept and we thoroughly enjoyed the use of the hot tub of an evening. We were grateful to be provided with a variety of options for breakfast including locally sourced eggs and bacon! The 2016 bottle of Chiraz was a wonderful surprise also. We also noted that the host provided a lot of information regarding the surrounding area, local restaurants and takeaways with a variety of local brochures on the activities in the surrounding area. Thank you again Tim for a wonderful stay and thank you for having us.

Grass Valley Refreshments

Some tasty treats from the team at GVR - probably the best Ruben sandwich you will have. Open year-round for your trips up to Falls Creek for summer Mountain Biking, or in Winter when you need that warm treat before hitting the slopes.

Mt Beauty Gorge Walk

An easy walk with big results, a classic suspension bridge made for photographing the history of the area, and many great viewpoints along a short and achievable walk.

Mermaid Beach Rock Pool

This is a well-formed track with no steps and gentle hills. Drive to the car park at the end of Rock Pool Road. Walk the easy bush track 250 meters into the Mermaid Beach. Enjoy the beautiful swimming hole, which is ideal for families.

Fainter Falls

A wonderful forrest walk from the Bogong High Plains Road at the Bridge up to Fainter Falls waterfall. A 20 minutes walk.

Mount Feathertop

Mt Feathertop is probably the most appealing peak in the high country. It provides scenic hiking in summer and in winter it is a great for mountaineering and extreme skiing.

Mt Buffalo Boulders

The slightly more extreme side of Mt Buffalo, adventuring in Caves, bouldering and exploring the rocky faces - Mt Buffalo has everything from cruisy walks all the way to the more extreme adventure.
