Walden Cottage was the absolute dream getaway. The space felt so cozy and peaceful, surrounded by calm nature and sweet farm animals that made slowing down effortless. The absolute highlight of our st...ay was meeting Bonnie the puppy, she completely stole our hearts! If you're looking for a relaxing, restorative reset, this is the perfect spot. We can’t wait to come back!

A cosy little cottage tucked away amongst the beautiful Gippsland countryside. I loved the simplicity of Cottage and how peaceful it felt surrounded by forest, farmland, water and wildlife. It was war...m, comfortable and had everything I needed for a solo escape. The great base for exploring Tarra-Bulga National Park, waterfalls and the surrounding countryside. I loved coming back after a big day exploring to a warm bath, cuppa and cosy space! Loved the old school DVD collection too!

The cottage has everything you need for a pleasant stay, however unfortunately I arrived in the pouring rain and a lot of mud to walk through from the car to the entry door. Bob, the host was lovely a...nd very welcoming along with his family. Unfortunately I needed to go home after one night due to a family matter so didn’t stay the remaining 2 nights. Think it’s important to note there is no TV, just DVDs, so good idea to bring some you like. Improvement suggestions to build a deck or veranda so guests could enjoy the river passing close by and maybe update outdoor furniture and add a fire pit. Good location in spring and summer.

Cyathea Falls Nature Walk

Beautiful rainforest walk to see Cyathea Falls and I did take the track less taken to get up nice and close to this beauty.

Agnes Falls

About a half hour drive from Yarram, the Agnes River drops sixty metres creating a beautiful drop over many stone ledges. The surrounding grounds are well kept as a public picnic area - a delightful place for lunch. Access is from Welshpool; take the road opposite the primary school. The falls are well signposted. The falls are a 39 minute drive away.

Rain Forest Walking Trail

There's an information area here with several walks and picnic tables. Keep your eyes open, you might be luckily enough to spot a Lyrebird like me! You can certainly hear them!

Drivin Along Tarra River

The drive into Tarra-Bulga National Park along the Tarra River was a very scenic drive and there was several spots to stop off along the way in.
