All 4 architecturally designed Villas and our spacious Lodge have stunning sea views and make our place a good choice for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families, big groups, and you can even bring your furry friends (pets, guidelines apply)

Ahu Ahu Beach Villas has weber BBQs available for use, l large outdoor fire-pit - perfect for marshmallow roasting, 2-minute walk to swimming and surf beach, bikes for hire, and a couple of hidden romantic sunset spots. Laundry facilities available at an additional charge. Oraukawa Lodge has its own fire pit with BBQ and plenty of outdoor seating for entertaining and enjoying a meal in the Summer months.

There is generally someone in the office most days from the hours of 11 am-2 pm.
All children are welcome.
Free! All children under 1 year stay free of charge in a crib.

Any additional older children or adults are charged NZD 50 per night for extra beds.

The maximum number of extra beds in a room is 1.

Any type of extra bed or crib is upon request and needs to be confirmed by management.

Ahu Ahu Beach Villas is an absolutely amazing place. With spectacular NZ views and non-NZ architecture (it feels more like Italian or Spanish - wooden beams, uneven plastered walls etc.). Both give yo...u high aesthetic pleasure.
Villas are comfortable and well accommodated (only thing you could miss a little is a dishwashing machine; but you don't come here for having fool city comfort). There is a lot of room outside to spend time with family and dog (if you have one). Firepit is another source of hedonism. Making a fire and meeting a sunset is so simple and so great way to spend time with family. And after that keeping the smell of fire on your cloth till you come back home form the trip.
It was also a pleasure to meet villas owners who and have lovely chat with them. The really built a great place, with its own soul.

Our stay at Ahu Ahu Beach Villas was beautiful. The villas have a homely feel and the location is stunning. We loved the proximity to the beach, waking up to the sound of the waves and spending peaceful evenings looking out at the view.

A nurse in her previous life, Nuala puts her organisational skills and love for people to good use in running Ahu Ahu Beach Villas and Willie's House. She is a foodie, and happiest with a latte or wine in the company of family or friends. For a number of years Nuala and husband, David, worked their land alongside a wholefood business they established in New Plymouth, and these things converge in the glorious food they provide for events – made with thought and passion. David and Nuala love living in Ahu Ahu Rd – a great place to fish, surf, garden, beach comb, watch sunsets and enjoy life raising their three now-grown children. They created Ahu Ahu Beach Villas as a spontaneous extension of the enjoyment they gained from meeting visitors on the beach and inviting them into their home and lives. Willie's House was David's dad's much-loved home, and David and Nuala now manage it on behalf of Willie's family. David and Nuala add that extra something to every guest’s stay – whether it’s the secret of the best sunset spot on the coast, a freshly caught fish to share, or a connection over a chat and a laugh. Come as strangers, leave as friends!

Sit on our seat overlooking the sea, the villas face north & this faces west, making it the prime location for enjoying the sunset. If you're lucky you might see the Green Flash!
