Absolutely loved our stay! Rosie and Peter are incredibly kind and thoughtful hosts—Rosie welcomed us with a warm smile that made us feel right at home. The place was beautiful, surrounded by nature, ...with stunning mountain views and breathtaking sunsets that we never got tired of. Waking up to the lovely sounds of birds and the peaceful natural setting made the stay truly special. The location was quiet and relaxing, perfect for unwinding. The amenities were exactly as described, and the space was clean, cozy, and very well-equipped. Check-in was smooth and effortless, and the entire experience was seamless from start to finish. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful, nature-filled getaway!
We would definitely visit again:)

Buchan Caves

Take a leisurely walk in the Caves Reserve admiring the native plants, animals and exotic trees and then join guides from Parks Victoria on a guided tour of Royal Cave or Fairy Cave. Artefacts of Aboriginal occupation from 18,000 years ago are still visible in the Buchan Caves, one of the oldest Ice Age cave sites in southeast Australia.

Buchan Valley Walk

One of the steeper walks in the reserve, it makes its way through some tall timber and moss covered gullies. As you climb higher you will take in some wonderful views of the Buchan Valley. Look for Ringtail Possum nests in the tall Teatree. Lyrebirds are also often sighted along this track. (Distance: 4km / 2.5 hours return)

Exploring Wilsons Cave

Wilson’s cave is one of the Buchan caves, a perfect place for everyone who craves a little adventure. It’s a ‘wild’ cave, with no light installations inside, so make sure you bring the light yourself!

Kayaking On The Snowy Or Buchan Rivers

Go kayaking or white water rafting on the Snowy River. The river is renowned for canoeing and rafting, and this remote park is ideal for those who appreciate magnificent forests, rugged gorges and wild landscapes. Or kayak the Buchan River which flows through the property.

The Buchan River

The Buchan River winds through the township. You can walk along the rivers edge from the swing bridge to the Bluff Reserve, our local swimming hole. The river has good for fishing for trout, black fish and eel. There are picnic tables in some very scenic spots. You can also do a lilo run from the bluff, getting out at the swing bridge.
The Bruthen Blues & Arts Festival

The Bruthen Blues Arts Festival

The town of Bruthen hosts a town-wide Blues and Arts Festival on the third weekend of February each year. With a street stage, market and food stalls and special performances at the pubs and cafes, there’s loads to see and do for the whole family.
