Onshore Retreat is set on the beautiful natural coastline of St Andrews Beach, only three minutes stroll to the water’s edge and surrounded by 6800sqm of natural bushland.
Our Back Beach Lodge is perfect for families, featuring 1 queen 1 king size beds and 2 single beds suitable for young children.
The space
Originally built in the 1970s and recently restored by OSR, the Back Beach Lodge is a loft style house with expansive living areas split across two levels, with a full kitchen and light-filled meals area.
Open up the sliding doors and let the cool sea breeze in on a hot day and cosy up next to the fireplace in the evening.
The lodge allows the opportunity of spending quality time outside amongst the bushland with a private outdoor dining area with a private 4 seater jacuzzi and infrared sauna. Listen to the waves roll in and watch the sunset from the west from your private deck.
Originally hand built in the 70's by Gunter Burgstahler, this European inspired lodge has been recently restored to its former glory. The log-cabin feature wall, sweeping high ceilings and thoughtful styling create a unique and luxurious accommodation experience.
Comprising of split level living, the lodge has a master bedroom downstairs and a open loft with the second queen bed and 2 single beds.
Only a 500m walk through natural scrub to the beach with the best of the Mornington Peninsula’s stunning offerings close by. We are located minutes from the popular St Andrews Brewery and the Peninsula Hot Springs, with wineries and golf courses a short drive away.

Hands down the best accomodation we have stayed at yet. So peaceful and private. Hosts were amazing and the late checkout was another deal seal. Hard to compete with simply perfect outdoor sauna, spa and shower. Everything was well maintained and clean. Very private. Will definitely be back!!!

Had an absolutely beautiful stay, 4 days of doing next to nothing but reading by the fireplace, soaking in the spa and sleeping to the sound of the surf. Absolute bliss, would 100% recommend.

St Andrews Beach
Nestled among the sand dunes we found this stretch of beach that runs from Cape Schank to Portsea. A great spot for a refreshing dip and walk along the shore.
Peninsula Hot Springs
This place is perfect to soak to the bones after a big week on the tools. It was so good to relax and rejuvenate in such an idyllic setting.
Quench Your Thirst
A vibey brewery with a huge beer garden that was the perfect pit stop for some afternoon refreshments. We shared the wings and chips (that were next-level good), all washed down with a St Andrew's Beach Brewery lager and cider.

Cape Schanck Boardwalk
The boardwalk is just left of the lighthouse and its stairs lead down the colourful cliffs to the rocky beaches below. This coast is beautiful in all weather and the boardwalk offers the most amazing views.
Le Capucin Cafe
This cafe lives right next to the beach. You can have some delicious food, take a coffee away and walk along the pier. There were local swimming competitions the morning we watched from the shore. A great local spot.
