This property has been thoughtfully put together. Beds were super comfy, bathroom was nice and modern and the kitchen was equipped with everything you need. Even saw quite a few wombats on the surroun...ding roads which was a nice highlight! Would definitely come back and stay at this beautiful property!

We adored our stay at The Rookery. It had everything we were looking for in a holiday home – beautiful location, relaxed atmosphere, dog-friendly, cosy and warm.
The weather was wet and cold, so it ...made the fireplace experience extra nice. We cooked at home both nights and the kitchen was well stocked with the right pots and pans, oil, salt, pepper, etc. The bed was warm and so comfortable.
The fenced yard was perfect for dogs – enough room to be able to explore outside while keeping safe within the property.
The back gate onto the path that leads to the No 5 Beach was so special. I can imagine in warmer weather being able to enjoy a glass of wine on the back deck and looking directly out into the bushland with no worries of big city life.
The hosts go above and beyond – great communication, sharing tips of the local area, as well as leaving a surprise gift basket of goodies to help set the holiday tone. Greatly appreciated, thank you!

No 1 5 Beaches Of Venus Bay
Stunning beaches from No.1 - 5 beach. Long stretches of seaside and I had most of the beaches to myself. I wanted to go for the dip although the ocean looked wild! No.2 Beach is a short walk from the Villa.
No 5 Beach
We surfed and swam a good chunk of the time we were at Venus Bay, the afternoon sunset was incredible. We went to No 5 Beach, the closest beach to the Sugar Shack, about 1km away.
Fishermans Jetty Reserve
A leisurely, mid-morning stroll down to the banks of Fishermans Jetty. Along with an abundance of fish, we were also lucky enough to spot a wombat!
Surfing
Venus Bay is a very open, exposed bay, facing into the south-west winds and waves. The beach is nearly 24 km long and has public access only toward the northern end at the Venus Bay settlement. Best with a low to moderate swell and north to north-east winds, however the shape depends on the bar configuration.
Point Smyth Forest Walk
A tranquil walk to slow down and switch off. There are many secret gardens and picnic spots to be found amongst the vines.
Bargain Hunting At The Community Centre
For those who are after a bargain – this op shop does not disappoint! The community centre is the in heart of the town, with quirky trinkets, vintage furniture and lovely staff. Be prepared to make room in your car or sacrifice your foot space (like we had to) to make way for your finds!
