A secluded weekend escape without all the travel or a home away from home. This lovely beach shack is the perfect location for escaping on a Friday after work. Alternatively, it may be the perfect romantic or friends getaway. The accommodation is ideally situated 300m away from the raw beauty of Rye back beach, which almost feels like your own private oasis.

Pack your bathers, grab a few drinks in an esky and enjoy the beautiful sunset or a peaceful morning walk along the water.

The house itself is beautifully tucked away from the often crowded peninsula, but only a short drive to restaurants, shops, bars, hot springs, golf course s and wineries.

5 minutes walk to the most desired back beach of Rye, within walking distance of the Dundas Street shops, and conveniently located to quality sand belt golf courses, wineries and the bay foreshore, with all it offers in the way of cafes, restaurants and shopping.

I had a wonderful stay at Avon Beach Shack. From the moment I arrived, it felt homely, welcoming and instantly relaxing.
The bed was very comfortable — I slept like a log both nights, which is rare fo...r me! The kitchen was fully equipped with everything I needed, making it easy to settle in and feel at home.
I loved the thoughtful touches, including the Sonos speaker and the super-comfy couch, perfect for relaxing with a book and a glass of wine.
Communication from Catherine was excellent throughout, with clear instructions and friendly, prompt responses.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommended.

Our little family had a wonderful time at Avon Beach Shack! Beautifully styled and well appointed, we had a quiet and peaceful weekend, exploring the nearby beach and cafes, and other gems around Rye ...(like an arvo at the St Andrew Beach Brewery!). Our baby had room to play and explore, and it was a perfect weekender with a little one.
Catherine was great and super helpful and responsive.
Highly recommended 😊😊

Me and my husband love traveling and travel intensively within Australia and overseas and love staying more in holiday home places rather than booking on hotels. I have been a host for 15 years on other short term holiday rentals platforms since 2009

Gorgeous sunset views from the deck paired with a very good glass of wine. Cheers to the sunset lovers and air guitar players.

No 16 Hidden Clifftops

Number 16 Beach has a beautiful sandy beach to walk along, but also an easily missed track to some wild clifftop views. Such an ace spot to watch the waves roll in and smash against the cliffs. When you arrive at the car park walk back to near the entrance you'll find a gate that leads to the cliffs.

Surf At Sixteen Beach

Rye Ocean Beach in Mornington Peninsula is an exposed beach and reef break that has quite consistent surf and can work at any time of the year. Number Sixteen Beach is only 5 minutes walk from our place, also next to us is St Andrews beach and Gunnamatta beach.

Head to one of the more westerly facing beaches to catch those golden rays across the ocean at sundown.

This picturesque spot with clay coloured cliffs and soft sand is the perfect spots to watch the wild ocean and get your ocean therapy. At low tide you can spot the Dragon's Head rock formation.
